New Spider-man Figs hit!!

t was November when we last showed you the newest shots of the first wave of Spider-Man Classics for 2009. Now reports are coming in about these hitting stores...

Juggernaut
Venom
and two new Spideys you probably won't care about.

Tarantula is grossly under-scaled, putting him even shorter than Quicksilver from the Marvel Legends line. They've messed up the spider symbol on this incarnation of Venom, turning a must have into a "I'll have to modify this for it to actually look like the character its supposed to be" figure. Huge ball drop there! Juggernaut comes in slightly taller than the Venom from this line, making him shorter than Crossbones from the Ares Marvel Legends wave (which I still have yet to find..thank you NJ scalpers!!) It seems like Juggernaut will be the saught after figure from the line, as we can justify the proportions as being more to his early appearances before his size went the way of the Hulk in comics. Of course, you'll have to get past his cartoony looks. Still, he's the first Juggs with the secondary anti-Prof. X helmet under his larger helmet, and that should count for something....right?

I was gonna post the pics, but my computer doesn't feel like playing today.

Anyway, I definately want Tarantula, even though he seems to be a little short, which is weird.

Maybe, Venom, and that's a BIG maybe/probably not. I'll have to see once I see him. Does his tail come off? This would be my third Venom, and who needs that many? We'll see.

No need for Juggs. I still have my SUPERIOR ToyBiz version, and it doen't get better than that. Easy pass.

Although I am curious what the 2 Spidey's 'I don't care about' will look like.

One of the pics clearly shows the tail disconnected from the body, so it does come off.

I'll probably pass on all of these except for Tarantula. I'd rather have the large Toybiz Juggernaut over the Hasbro version, and not interested in Gargan Venom.

A lot of people I know are happy they're releasing another Juggernaut, but that thing is so poorly painted it's almost not worth it.

Thanks Crawler, like I said, how many Venoms does a person need? I have the big hulking one with the jaw action, and the smaller, grinning McFarlane version. I don't read TBolts so I don't need Gargan as Venom, ya know? The repainted eyes is cool and the tail is too, but I've seen him use the Scorpion tail, what, once, twice maybe, in the comic?

A lot of people I know are happy they're releasing another Juggernaut, but that thing is so poorly painted it's almost not worth it.

I'm sure the people who missed the ToyBiz version are happy to have a Juggernaut figure, but guys like me, who already have a better one? Not a chance.

they threw scuba spidey in again and an all new sculpt spiderman with the worst of the worst in hasbro articulation
-no ab crunch
-no ball joint hips
-single knee articulation
-single elbow articulation
-lucky if they threw ankle articulation in it,i have seen a pic in a long time to remember

it looks like it could be a good spidey if they tried,i like the head sculpt,but thats not worth 11 bucks

One if my favorites is from the Fearful Foes box set, which you could probably get loose on eBay.

Or if you like the Red and Black look this one is good too.

And this one is still available in stores.

I saw some pics on the fwoosh Tarantula looks short and I take back any nice thing I aid about this new Juggernaut it looks awful in all the pics.

picked up venom tonight, hes pretty decent. All they had was venom and loads of cheap ass looking black/red spidey

Because the Toy Biz Juggy is so expensive on every site that I can find it on, I kinda have to settle for this one.

That sucks Spike. You truly missed out on a fantastic figure. I feel you though, same thing happened to me with the Absorbing Man from the Hulk wave. I sure as hell wasn't going to pay huge $$ for the original toybiz version, but the new one ain't bad. Better than nothing, man.
