That sucks Spike. You truly missed out on a fantastic figure. I feel you though, same thing happened to me with the Absorbing Man from the Hulk wave. I sure as hell wasn't going to pay huge $$ for the original toybiz version, but the new one ain't bad. Better than nothing, man.

well there was a spidey/absorbing man 2 pack that came out at one time, it was still hard to fine, but thats where i was able to get absorbing man, and very glad i did, the new one sucks

no, the 1st gargan venom (jaw chomping venom repaint) that came out in the first new series is good... but the head is better on the series 2 venom... so i did a head swap and created a REALLY great gargan venom

And yeah, the other Absorbing Mans were better, but I'm shelling out big bucks for them. This new one is good enough for me.

Yeah, the new Absorbing Man isn't so bad that I wasn't willing to settle for him. Despite the lackluster paint job and articulation, the sculpt itself is pretty decent, so I didn't mind getting him. Very much like the new Juggernaut toy. It's not that Cain looks bad, IMO. It's just that he doesn't look as good as the previous Juggy. I mean, his arms look... less than stellar, and his helmet(s) aren't quite what I've come to expect and want to see on Cain's head, but the rest of it looks fine.

lol in the grand scheme of things maybe.. but as much as i hate eddie brock not being venom, Gargan venom has been a bigger threat than eddie has been in a long time. Venom really only has a small small handful of good stories, then the got reduced to an emo hero, then to a drooling has been, now he's more dangerous then ever due to gargan not holding back.

I agree he is doing way more bad ass stuff, but it seems more like Brock wore the Symbiote and now the Symbiote wears Gargan. it seems like he's been in control of of it more lately though

well yeah, thats what happens.. the symbiote needs a host. It needs the body and the mind. so it can thrive.

Eddie had morals, the symbiote bonded to him for his hatred of spider-man, but his morals and beliefs kept it from taking full control. Eddie's mind battled the symbiote for control, where gargan's beliefs follow in suit with the symbiotes. Due to Gargan's weak mind, but strong fury and hatred, and all out evilness. The symbiote has way more power and control over it's host

Why is that Venom figure an amalgam of two Venom's? It's not quite Eddie, its not quite Gargan. Isn't this the 4th time we've gotten an inaccurate Venom fig?

Eff it, I'll hold off and buy the unrelated Anti-Venom figure.

the venom i made i feel is perfect gargan/venom

but in recent issues, gargan venoms spider has been drawn classic style... so if you take the tail off (which is easily removed) the new "gargan venom" is still technically accurate. I just prefer the series 1 gargan venom body to the new one, so i did a head swap

the question is are you going to get the Marvel Selects one or wait for hasbro to make one. probably better off getting MS considering how long its taken hasbro to get this tarantula figure out. they need to pick up the pace. I prefer ML but DCUC with mattel is better at getting new figures out, but they did have poor distro in the beginning now its shaped up.

hopefully Hasbro becomes more like that and gives us more spider-man rogues like Tombstone they just released a super hero squad version of him why not an ML version
