New TRAILER anticipation -and countdown- thread!

The film won't be any longer than the last two.

If Sony want to break records, they need to keep the length short so cinemas can have more showings, to have a bigger box office take.

That's what happened with X3.

^^ not really...pirates 2 was 2:30 hours long and it made like $900,000,000+

Let's not forget the Lord of the Rings series which was long and I have no idea how much it made because I'm too lazy to look it up but I know it's a lot.

They shouldn't try and force success by making the movie something it isn't -- if the movie needs to be 2:40 then that's how long it should be, keeping it shorter than it needs to be to try and get more bums on seats isn't the way to go about it. They should just let the movie have however much time it needs, and I aggree with naite, it should be 2:40 to fit what it needs to in there.

Yeah I Agree too. But the success is gonna come mostly from the hype. They have done such a huge job at keeping things a secret.

& i love how they are keeping everything kept as a secret...it just makes te wait even more worthwhile:)

Doh! Good point, and a modern miracle, if I might add.

Just as long as the movie is called spider-man, it will rake in $300 million on its name alone.

I don't think so. It may have a big opening weekend because its Spider-man.
But if the movie sucks(which I hope it won't) in the follow weeks will drop on the box office.
I think thats pretty hard to happen, because of all the stuff that was shown to us but...

thats true, alot of story to tell and new characters to introduce and villians, is why spidey3 will probably be 2:40 long, maybe more:cwink:.

Your kidding right? I don't know how anyone can say this movie will not make at least $300 million. I know people were saying that for Superman, but we still didn't know what to expect from that film. This is movie has 2 very successful films behind it and it's pretty much guaranteed it's going to be a monster at the box office.

Umm.... look at Spidey's competion for next summer. I'm not sure of all the dates but these movies will be released around SM3:

Pirates 3 (forget the title)
Shrek 3
Tranformers
Fantastic Four 2
Harry Potter 5

There are more, but I do not feel like researching. Anyway, I'm not sayin that SM3 won't do good in terms of box office, I'm just sayin don't expect it to break SM1's profit. Also don't be surprised if Shrek or Pirates beats out Spidey. It will be a great movie, I'm not doubting that, but it willl not reach any record-breaking box office numbers.

Those may beat out Spidey, but I never said Spider-Man 3 would break records. I just said it's definitely going to gross $300 million or more, and I think there's a 99% chance of that happening. Shrek The Third comes out 2 weeks after Spider-Man and Pirates comes out 3 weeks after. So I think Spider-Man will make a **** load of money in that 2 week span. I just don't see a Spider-Man movie grossing less than $300 million.

ComingSoon.net has learned that we won't just be getting a new Spider-Man 3 trailer with Casino Royale on November 17th, but Sony Pictures is probably attaching another trailer with Ghost Rider as well on February 16th. Oh, and also look out for new Spider-Man 3 posters around the release of the 21st James Bond installment.

^ I wonder what's the deal with this!??... On nov.17'th there's still 5½ months till the movie is released... that's about the time they begin to really make the CGI and incorporating into the film... So how much can they really have to show off?? I dont think it's the theatrical trailer... maybe a really good teaser 2!...

Kind of off-topic but I don't know where else to post this.

My friend was at the movie theater the other day and saw a box labled "Spider-Man 3 Posters".

I'm guessing those are the new ones.

^ Cool!!!;):)

I know they're coming very very soon. can't wait to see them:)

I hope we get to see Night Surfer in action.

I think I'm the only person here liking the angle on Harry. I feel alone.
