Will Peter be aware of the symbiote?

So let me get this straight...you guys can suspend belief enough to accept that a black, slippery goo from space has attached itself to a mutated human with spider abilities, yet you can't concieve how the goo can turn his suit from red to black?

speaking for myself, not the color, but the shape is what troubles me.

just like birdshyt, (it can destroy the paint of ur car , but it can't make a sportscar out of a suv)

I was watching the teaser and that final shot made me think. If the shot is not specifically made/altered for the teaser, what will its meaning be in the context of the film's script? As many have suggested, one of the possibilities is that the symbiote is making Peter see his costume as the regular red/blue one. If that turns out to be true, doesn't it mean that Peter will not be aware of the symbiote? Will he only realize he's wearing it in the end?

Following this line of thinking, why would Peter accept a sudden change in the colour of his suit? Even in the Secret Wars, Peter was initially suspicious of the suit's different appearance, although he was trying to get a new costume. Why wouldn't he be suspicious in the film? And what explanation would make him accept it?

Plus, if he actually knew about the symbiote, wouldn't he make a connection between the change in his colours and the change in his behavior?

Thoughts?

Well, it seems he is laying down and it comes on to him. But why would be sleeping with the costume? I don't if he feels it on him, or if he doesn't.

been wondering bout this too, the way he is laying (perfectly strechted and flat) my bet is he got hurt or something, (must be passed out completely)

^ That's exactly it, i really wonder why his wearing the costume and laying down like that.

Hmm, interesting theory.... I think that could be possible, actually. The symbiote might just blind Peter to its presence completely --- he doesn't even know its there, and when he looks in something like a mirror all he sees is the old red and blues. It would explain why he doesn't immediately get suspicious.

I'm not sure if its the direction I'd want it to go in, but its interesting.... we'll see.

I'm pretty darn sure that Pete realizes that it's a black substance, as does everyone else. However, I believe that it will only be visible that way to the human eye, which is why the reflection in the side of the building shows his costume normally. The human eye will percieve it as a black substance, but in reality, it's not there... it's this supernatural entity of some sort: a deception (in more ways than one!)

Vague? A little... but that's my guess.

I will try to break things down as I see them from the trailer.

Peter will be his usuall self. A bit more confident. He will square off the Sandman twice before getting the symbiote. As Black Spidey he will be more badass and more powerfull. He will at first be unaware of Black Spidey. Then he will come to accept it and then reject it. There will be a seen where he is being attacked by GG2 but he will be in street clothes.

I think he will be in two love triangles. I think that as regular Peter he will have competition with Harry for MJ. Then after he gets the Symbiote. He will have another love triangle with Stacy and Eddie. This triangle will have Peter more sexed up and lustfull. He will be more possesive. During the day he will be Red Spidey if anything comes up. At night he will be badass black Spidey

Sandman will be unstable. I have a feeling that this film will be longer. I think that Harry will survive. Just looking at the trailer, I know it will be kickass. It has no choice but to be.

I believe that Harry dies in this movie. I believe you about Spidey fighting Sandy 2 times before he get the symbiote though.

Its a flippen sentient creature(we still dont know if its alien in this version). Maybe pete doesnt accept it on his own. Maybe the symbiote makes him accept it. The reflection is either a dream or the symbiote fing with his head.

Maybe Parker will only find out his costume is a different color, once pictures are taken of it? Or someone informs him of the change...

Most likely though, that final scene from the teaser, was made specifially for the teaser...

The symbiote just makes him color blind? lol that will work. I thought that last clip in the teaser was just made for the teaser itself?

Yes, I wondered about this too. But I dunno, it could be from the film, when he wakes up and doesn't know how he got there. I mean he obviously seems completely discombobulated, haha.

Maybe he has been fighting Sandman & becomes so exausted from doing battle with him that he swings back home for some rest. The even bigger question is how does the symbiote conveniently get into Peter's apartment? He must not have been aware that anything like this was there in the first place, or it hitched a ride on him from some place & didn't notice that it was on his costume.

Well if affects his behavior it's obviously interacting with his brain.

yo hunter rider! why the hell do you post so much!! lol. damn 34 thousand posts!! that cant be good for you. lol

In that scene it looks like peter is waking up from a trance......the black suit did control him while he was asleep in the comic and cartoon. The suit probaly trys to fool him at 1st but he figures it out i guess

oh, well i created a thread that this board really needs 'A Spamming Thread' its for all those members like myself whos board existence revolves around flaming peoples useless comments or pointless threads to channel there opinions into one thread, so n00bs don't have to complain that people are ruining the atmosphere of these boards.

but about a week ago...you were one of those who posted useles threads and comments, and when you were flamed, you complained that people were ruining your precious thread. and now you've got yourslef a thread-making ban.

this is the biggest turnaround possible for you. you've gone from being a n00b to calling people n00bs, even though you still are a n00b.

I'm pretty sure what is happening is that Spider-man has just been taken over and he wakes up hanging upside down like the cartoon version.

HOWEVER... the symbiote is altering his perception of his costume so that he won't know that he is wearing the symbiote... aka its fooling him into believing he just randomly woke up outside but nothing else is wrong.

That's my theory.

I doubt they'd spend the money altering it just for the trailer. After all, it's of no great signifigance to the casual viewer.

nah, it's definitely altered. and it wouldn't take much money. as we've seen on here, fans can manip video to change spidey's color's very well. so it's not so tough for the movie team to do it.

the shot in the trailer is meant to show the duality in peter parker because of the symbiote. it's meant basically to show both the good and evil in that one, final shot. in the movie, that will simply be when spider-man wakes up upside down, confused, and in black.
