News flash!

Maybe.

I'm ambivalent about GL as well. Looks fun, but also a bit silly and the FX look waay too digitized. They say it's Star Wars as a comicbook. Must be the prequels.

Definitely gonna watch it though. Not too many DC-movies coming out these days.

I've been bummed about this same thing... :( I almost feel like by the time Supes comes out it will be just another movie and not as special as it should be. Oh well as long as I get what I've been waiting for in a Superman movie I can't allow myself to be concerned about the GP. If only Singer didn't FK it up!

Dont worry. I imagine (and desperately cling on to) that Snyder will in fact knock it outta the park and do something extraordinary. At least, that's something he's mostly good for. Trying to raise the bar regarding visuals be it blue dongs or far-out suckerpunching. You just know it wont be boring.
I'm sure Snyder and co will show us what it means to be THE super-man of today.

I hope it's not Green Lantern. I'm still not sold on GL.
According to this http://supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=9814#comments,
there is a "bombshell" announcement concerning Superman and the DC Universe, that is going to be dropped by Lee and Johns at Hero Complex convention, June 9-12.
Maybe a MOS costume reveal?
Although more likely another Superman (and DC universe) reboot because of Flashpoint. Why knows?
The last official news (the only kind that counts) we received was Michael Shannon's casting and it's been a while.
I think we may be in the dark till Comic Con.
I hope its the MOS costume. Dying to see it already.
I also don't think it's going to be a reboot of the DC Universe. My guess would be guys like Abin Sur and others from the FP universe will become regulars in the current DC universe.

Erm, don't you think that ship has completely sailed decades ago? Seeing it once is a novelty even for Superman. If the character can't get past the spectacle of flight there is a serious problem.

Dead characters coming back to life?
Didn't they just do that with the White Lanterns?
:whatever:

Plus the new Flashpoint characters look like a bunch of crap. The design of Britannia alone makes me want to punch things.

are we going to get any new news???? or are they saving that during comiccon?

Are we even getting anything at Comic-Con? It seems a bit too early to me to show anything at all. But if they'are going to show something at Comic-Con then I hope it would something awesome.

no solid connections as far as i know. he's only ever been suggested for Lex Luthor.

Wow, I didn't about that. Damn, it would have be great if Gosling had a role in Man of Steel. He is da man!

yeah, i agree that ryan gosling is a great actor, and he has got a lot of charisma. i wouldn't mind him as Lex.

Ryan is awesome in Half Nelson, Lars & the Real Girl, and Blue Valentine. He is gonna be an even bigger star after 'Drive' gets released.

Yeah, I agree. He's great in those films. And I can't ****ing wait until Drive comes out.

Gosling for Luthor would be ok in my book. He reminds me a bit of Christian Bale. Actually Gosling doing a Bruce Wayne-like Luthor would be cool. This moody rich man's son is kinda like a Bruce gone really bad anyways. Also a somewhat, but way cooler and more mature version of Harry Osborne.

Gosling would make a very interesting Luthor. He'd also make a great Joker.

Yeah. I think that movie with Steve Carrell will also give him a boost.

I'd like to see him show up in a superhero film at some point, but it doesn't seem like his thing. You never know, though.

Gosling also turned down the lead role in Avatar.

Seriously? Damn, that's a shame. He would have seriously elevated that movie. Granted, Avatar is the one movie where Sam Worthington's acting didn't make me want to slam my head into a wall, but there are still plenty of actors that would have likely brought more to Jake's character than him. Gosling is definitely one of them.

I've heard him talking about how he didn't feel comfortable playing the superhero role and would if he could. But then I thought maybe that would mean he would accept a villain role. But it doesn't look like it.
