Next Gen Football Games; 360 at 60fps, PS3 at 30fps

it's not world cup its copa d'america, and I beleive us only won a friendly against brazils c team

Its the U-20 (under 20) World Cup. Doesn't make a difference really, they beat ****ing Brazil.

The thing is, America is nation of individuals with ADD and they cant sit still for more than 10 f'ing seconds before they have to fidget. Soccer is such a slow, tedious and monotonous sport that Americans just dont have the patience to sit through a game of it, football on the other hand is much more fast past and gives Americans the chance to kind of re-set themselves in between plays.
if thats true, how do you explain why Baseball is popular here in the States?

And golf. GOLF FOR ****S SAKE!!! I can't stand it.

Argh Soccer sux and America hates it!!! How the hell can you call it the worlds sport when America is the world!!!

Do you happen to realize how big of a *****e bag you're making yourself look? Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, half the planet watches the world cup while only America and some American bases overseas watch the Superbowl. Stop before you hurt yourself.

I think it was something called "sarcasm". You don't have a sarcasm detector? Got mine at Costco.

Apparantly they beat their C team. That makes a huge difference. The C team isn't the proper Brazil. It doesn't have any of the top players that would be present in a proper match.

That said, I believe a couple of World Cups back the USA got to the quarters or there abouts. And that was against actual A teams. A better achievement.

Compared to football, its not popular at all at least in terms of spectators. Look at an NFL game then compare that to the MLB, BIG difference in attendence. Not knocking on baseball tho, i love the game and have played it since i was a kid.

And golf. GOLF FOR ****S SAKE!!! I can't stand it.

Same thing, compared to football, its not that popular here in the states. Golf is a fantastic game tho, i love it. Iv played off and on again for about 5 yrs and just started playing heavily again. Its a super tough game to master tho, so when you see a guy like Tiger Woods doing what he does, its absolutely astonishing.

It'd be like the Boston Red Sox making a big deal about beating the Staten Island Yankees.

Yup. 2002 World Cup, the States made it to the quarters, and lost to Germany 1-0. In the 94 World Cup, the States lost 1-0 to Brazil. But the best finish for the States was back in the first World Cup in 1930, where they made it to the semis.

America is the world!!! Without us, you would crumble!!!

Wait, then why isn't soccer as popular as baseball and golf then? Golf may be the slowest, most tedious game today, and I gurantee you its a hell of a lot more popular in America than soccer is. Baseball, its a no contest. If football lasted as long as baseball did, it would be the same popularity, its just not practical for them to do that. But my point still stands, even though football is more popular than golf and baseball, why isn't soccer as popular as baseball and golf? Golf is slower than soccer, and baseball is tedious as well. Just try watching a game Glavine pitches.

While were somewhat still on this topic,I need to throw my baseball game theory out there.
Never was, never will-be,..a good baseball game.Ive come to believe its just not possible.
Theres to many variables too many factors in real baseball to make a good video game. Its a true testament to the sport that,Its probably the only sport you can ONLY physically PLAY,it wont translate to a video game.
Video Games like Soccer,Football,Basketball are so linear(your goal post,my goal post)they lend themselves easily to the video game format.Even Golf video games(put the ball in the hole)Where as comparatively, Baseball is the miracle sport.Where the impossible occurs.

MVP 05. Just play it. Yeah its a few years old and yeah you can't play it on any next gen systems (though I hope that Microsoft finally makes it backward compatible one of these days) but its still the best baseball game out there.

Ya know, i dont know why soccer just isnt that popular here other than its slow play, yet u do make good points with baseball and golf. However all three of those sports, in terms of spectator attendence pale in comparison to the NFL and NASCAR, in which both events are extremely fast paced. But enough of this subject, lets get back on subject.

I'm not sure what to say about NASCAR other than its vast popularity is completely lost on me. Is it the crashes? It can't be the drivers. I mean, its always one of the same 6-7 rednecks that win every goddamn race.

Yeah, I can't stand watching it on TV or more than a few minutes. Watching cars drive around in circles over, and over...and over, I dunno, it just does't apeal to me.

As for the PS3 and the FPS thing...I am not sure about that. Ninja Gaiden Sigma runs at a smooth 60fps. I think it depends on the developer and how well they make their game. EA...they lost my business a LONG time ago. PS3 inferior to the X360? Sounds like a fanboy bash to me. From what I've read, spec wise as well as what it will be ultimately capable of (give it time, like the 360), I think it is a superior piece of hardware compared to the X360.

Well thats the problem, some do and some don't. And Ninja Gaiden was not a port of a 360 game, but original X box. All Pro Football is being developed from the ground up for both systems and they are saying that they are having the same problems with the PS3. Everything I have read on specs is that the PS3 is better in some ways than the 360 isn't and vice versa. It just seems really close to compare right now, time will tell with the PS3. But the bottom line will be the games and how well they play on both systems. Right now the 360 wins out.

Dude i couldnt agree more, its not that i dont like Auto Racing, i love the IRL and Formula One, but damn i dont get Nascar.

But back on topic, sorda, NCAA 08 will have a demo out on Marketplace tomorrow. So check it out before you hand ur cash to EA, i know i am.

Why can't you people just realize that America owns the UN and as such, we're going to call it "Football"?!?!?!??!?!

So has any one checked out the NCAA 08 demo?

Im gonna need to play the retail version as the demo really didnt sell me. I dont think its any worse than last yr(tho that would have been a tough feat) but im not sure its any better.
