Cage jumped the shark about 8 years ago!
Thanks but no thanks Nic!
Thanks but no thanks Nic!
You're only as good as your last film, as Cage has been terrible for a while now. I don't want to imagine what stupid new hair style he would wear for this movie.
Shave his head and make him Calendar Man. Have him in only a cameo like Scarecrow in Dark Knight. There, done.
Nicolas Cage isn't a bad actor, hes just playing the game. He knows he can coast buy on easy cheques for sure-fire forgettable hits. He hasn't been serious about his craft since adaptation.

A girl I know choked after seeing that picture

Blaspheme. Bale, early in his career was in the critically acclaimed Empire of the Sun. But he's had quite a number of duds since then. Shaft, Reign of Fire, Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
Chris Nolan was interested in Bale for Batman before he was filming Machinist. So if Nolan had taken your advice, he should not have cast Bale b/c Reign of Fire was his last film prior to being pursued for Batman and it was a crap film.
The bottom line is that even a great actor can give crappy performances. Brando was horrendous in The Score and it was the last starring role he did. In fact many of Brandos performances from the 90s were bad. How can Brando be only as good as his last films when he's given stellar performances in Streetcar, Godfather, Apocalypse Now, etc. etc. etc.?
Nick Cage won the Oscar for Best Actor. There's no doubt he can give a great performance when its married to a good script and proper direction. I doubt he'll be cast, but dollars to donuts if he was many of you guys would be on his nuts.
Bale has never done performances as bad as Cage has done in films like the Wicker Man and Ghost Rider. Ever. I'm pretty sure very few actors actually have. And even if they have, Cage is even worse for it because he has shown he can act which makes what he does now basically purposeful torture of the audience.
And Brando did indeed go downhill later in his career. That expression applies for current casting though. I wouldn't have been as excited for a Brando film in the 90s as I would had in previous decades. Thats a fact. Now that his career is finished its easy to look at his entire career but when it comes to being cast in a film now there is such a thing as going down the tubes/jumping the shark/whatever. Cage is currently down the tubes so I am really not excited at the idea of him being in this film just like I wouldn't have been that excited at 90s Brando being in a film.
Besides, I don't think an actor that NEEDS a good movie/good director in order to give a good performance is probably that great anyway. Like I said, if Cage is in a bad movie he is often the worst part of that movie.
t:" won't do anything other than inspire some horrible photoshops.Nic Cage's acting is.....weird. it isnt bad, but it isnt good either. Its just weird.
