Well this was a necro'd thread, but honestly, I could see this going either way.

I have had personal experience with teachers "over hearing" something, and reacting to something said completely out of context. So I believe that the father's story is perfectly viable.

However... I also believe that people in this world would be stupid enough to do what this lady was accused of... and she looks to fit the description.

When I was little I would set in the room while my mom tanned. It was easier to take me with her to tan for 20 minutes than get someone to watch me. And considering I got sunburned outside as a child my mom could have easily been charged like this woman. There would have been no way to prove that I got my sunburn outside and not in a tanning bed. So I don't if I want to rage on this woman from NJ. Maybe she really did just do what my mom did and took her kid with her to set in the room rather than hunting down a babysitter for a 20 minute tanning session.

If this woman was actually forcibly tanning the five year old kid then it's of course wrong.
