"No, Thank You..." - The Loki/Tom Hiddleston Thread!

ET set visit.

What about Loki? Tom Hiddleston’s beloved baddie, who has attempted to wreak havoc in each of the Thor films and more beyond that, was last seen in The Dark World masquerading as King Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and assuming his father’s throne on Asgard. (“What we don’t know is what has happened to Odin,” Waititi notes. “Which is what we find out in this film.”)

Loki’s loyalties are far from truly loyal, though -- in various stills from the film, he is pictured fraternizing with Thor, The Grandmaster and Hela -- so how exactly he factors into Ragnarok remains to be seen. Waititi wants to keep it that way. “Loki has been in Asgard, ruling in his own way,” he says coyly. “There's a really fun scene where we find him in the film and start unmasking Loki and his whole journey."

Fraternizing with Hela, eh? I missed that screen cap.

Thanks for posting this. :)

Same here, I can't remember seeing any images of Loki and Hela together so far. And now I desperately want one. :csad: Why does it seem that the closer it gets to the movie, the harder and harder the waiting gets? :cwink:

I agree! :D Although I'm trying to savor the build up because once the movie arrives and all the excitement dies down, I'll have post-epic movie depression. ;(

I bet it will be revisionist history! High hopes for this weirdness.

LOL, that would be funny.

Has anyone here seen the Kevin Smith movie "Dogma"? Damon plays a "Loki" in that film. An archangel that's been exiled to earth and he tries to get back into Heaven with his buddy Bartleby (Ben Affleck).

So if the rumor is true, kind of a fun nod. :)

What i just read now makes that rumor have a lot more sense. [BLACKOUT]So apparently Loki is watching a play of his own "family drama" and that's where Matt Damon's appearance is rumored to be.[/BLACKOUT]

I got instantly taken back to this scene. I could see something happen around that time.

Thanks HD! Makes sense to me as well. :)

What is Loki going to do in this film, throw more little knives?

Loki is a skilled fighter, he can shape shift, he can do magic, he's cunning, smarter than most...He's capable of giving Thor a really hard time in so many levels so he could also easily turn that into whoever he wants.

Loki throwing knives is something to pay attention to, especially since he is inclined to direct them at one's back.

Also, given that he can conjure those "little knives" pretty much whenever he wants, and they can hurt Asgardians. . .

Its like complaining that Iron Man fires laser beams, rather than shooting giant cannons. Its not a question of what *form* the attack takes, but how much damage it does.

( That said, I wouldn't mind him using his magic in other, more various, ways. )

I was just saying his power set is severely limited compared to the comics, not that those knives don't do damage.

Thor by comparison is much closer to his comic book counter part in terms of abilities.

Maybe there will be more shown if he's 100% committed- I don't think he was ever really in it to win it before, so maybe held back. (that's my head canon, at least, as the only other explanation I have is that the filmmakers thought a more abilities-accurate Loki would diminish Thor)

The thing I'm most eager to see is Thor's reaction to discovering Loki is still alive, after praising what, he thought, was a heroic and honourable sacrifice.

From some interviews it sounds like Thor has just stopped caring about Loki, which Loki himself is bothered by. I like the sound of that as it seems natural for Thor to eventually just give up. I'm sure the film will start building the relationship again in some way as well.

The other day i saw an old clip of Tom Hiddleston dancing in South Korea while promoting T:TDW. I hope he does it again for Thor: Ragnarok. He killed it. :woot:

Hiddleston has sounded extremely flat to me with his lines in most of the TV/Trailer spots. Hope it gets better.

You what?! :funny:

He's said the following lines:

''Suprise!''
''This will be such fun!''
''Hi!''
''I have to get off this planet.''
