The Dark Knight Nolan saying Michael Mann influences TDK...

no wonder Heat so underrated since some here haven't even seen it.

I love Michael Mann's Heat and I think the movie's theme does inspire Nolan in TDK.

This is great news to me, I love Micheal Mann's style. He was asked to direct Hancock three years ago, but turned it down in favor of Miami Vice. Gotta wonder what he would have done with it...

Screw this, im gonna go watch Heat...........*i wonder how many people have had that exact same thought after reading this thread?:woot:*

WelshMan out
funny you should say that, im watching heat right now :hehe:

Of the "modern" Mann films, I've only seen Ali and Miami Vice. If they're anything to go by....I wouldn't be too far off.

I'm paraphrasing here, but Spike Lee said it best when Mann managed to make a film about the most exciting entertainer in the world, seem uninteresting.

Ah. He made Collateral after Ali, which could never be described as boring. I just like to imagine what he'd have done with Hancock, seeing what has become of it since he turned it down. Now it seems it will be the usual Will Smith brand action-comedy time.

Yeah, because Spike Lee is so great *cough*

Has anyone gotten GTA IV and gotten to the 'Bank Job' stage? Very Heat-esque...

Best mission in the game - ive actually got a seperate save of that mission just for going back to repeat it. Theres another similar mission with Phil Bell but not as good........theres nothing better than coming home from work, crackin open an ice cold beer, ignoring the girlfriend, stickin on GTA4 and killing hundreds of cops with an assault rifle........all your troubles just drift away :woot:

I kept falling down the crane on that mission on the construction site in southern algonquin :( but I digress!

I actually picked up heat on DVD couple of months back since I hadn't seen it in a while, teh awesome

Dont know why its taken me this long but ive just thought of another Heat/TDK link..................William Fichtner!!!, i initially thought he was cast because hes awesome in Prison Break.........then he shows up in the prologue.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm :whatever:

speaking of Heat, I think Tom Sizemore would have made a good Maroni

I like Mann's stuff, I havent seen anything yet I really dislike.

Having just watched the opening bank heist from Heat; I don't think it's that similar to the Joker bank heist. Both have two very different feels, IMO.

I kinda see a vague similarity - doubt I would have if it wasn't mentioned.

Welcome to the hype! ;)
