Very gracious and respectful speech by McCain.

It's shameful that a few clods in the audience couldn't share that respect. :down

McCain's voice: I'd like to thank Sarah Palin.

McCain's thoughts: Should've picked Romney.

While true, there would have been no Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live. Instead, it probably would have been Seth Meyers playing Mitt Romney.

I know it's stupid to be nervous about Obama giving this speech, but I am nervous.

Way to **** up the good mood.:cmad:

 Reminding him of Kennedy's election is a GOOD thing. That was historic in that it was the first time a Catholic was elected to office. He also had a very similar career path before his presidency.

There's a huge cheering crowd in front of the white house. Completely unprecedented.

and pure pandemonium! :woot:

thats kind of a dumb location for obama to give a speech.........

I love the point David Gergen is making on CNN. "I think this is gonna change the way the world looks at us.". I agree.

Lets all pray obama doesn't get shot:yay:

Damn shame his grandma didn't live long enough to see this. :csad:

But all in all, kind of anticlimatic. Now if McCain won and had a heart attack at the 11th hour and dies, then Palin takes hold. That would have been comedy gold. :woot:

It was a nice concession speech by McCain. Where was this McCain during the election?

Shame his grandmother couldn't be here. I'm worried about his own life from this moment on now. He could step out to give his speech and be shot right now. It'd be awful. :(

thats what im saying thats an absolutely stupid place to have his acceptance speech, its like something out of a ****ing movie.

Yes, but Kennedy was assasinated. I was commenting about you pointing out Kennedy's end.

I wish Obama would come on with his speech. Forget about wiping away the tears and composure, bring it. I needs my sleep.

I wanted to hug McCain after his speech.

GObama!

Wow, still in awe about this, I couldn't possibly be happier with this result. Only way this could be better was if I'd been able to vote, my birthday is in 2 weeks, I just barely missed it. I really do feel inspired, I feel proud, and I have faith in America. I love politics, I've been considering studying it in college, and tonight really has inspired me so much I may actually decide to go for it.

After the kind of campaign McCain choose to run, I am glad he is eating humble pie with such grace. He earned very bit of it. His supporters at that speech can go to hell as far as I am concerned, though.
