See, I'm not a gamer, so I got the definition wrong. :o

I always assumed "Gamer" was the video game equivalent of "movie buff"
Hehe yeah it doesn't work the same way. Any one can be a gamer by just playing them period.

I don't really either. Though I've always thought of it as the gaming version of movie buff as well. To me, it means nothing more than someone who has more than just a passing interesting in video games.

I suppose.

I think it may also be a generational thing. I don't know any guy in my age group who doesn't have some kind of video game console. From the nerds to the jocks.

I smiled quite the smile when I saw the trailer for Hyrule Warriors. I am completely hyped for it. I love the idea and I hope it is as good as I dream.

They will. What I am most concerned about is gameplay. Would be nice to really fight with Link. I like Skyward Sword, but the combat is so... eh. Link looking ridiculous holding his sword in the manner that he does, doesn't help. Zod I hate the Wii-mote. "No More Heroes Paradise" confirmed it for me. All these games would be better with a real controller.

In real life, Link would have horrible arthritis.

It always kind of bugged me that Link kept his sword on his back, but at least that looks cool, impractical as it is.

:funny:

And yeah, sword on the back is more for transport then actual combat, but I too like the look. The same for Hayabusa. Just looks ridiculous when they unsheathe their swords.

Got this for myself for Christmas, with the 3DS bundle. It's downloading now, and I can't wait for it to finish.

I assumed it was because the Japanese creators weren't familiar with European style straight swords, but then I tried it with a katana... you can kind of do it, since it's curved, but it's extremely awkward.

They probably just do it because it looks cool - at least wearing it - drawing the sword looks pretty awkward now.

I always assumed it had to do with the amount of mobility that is expected from the characters. Would look a bit more awkward and probably would have even more clipping issues if it was on the waist.

Probably true, back in the day. But now? I think this just looks kind of awkward now, with the realistic graphics.

What makes it even odder is that most other characters have them on their waist. Though I can't recall seeing any of them drawing. Be funny if they actually made a note of it.

I do hope the graphics improve.

They will, but I wouldn't expect a big increase, though. The DW don't look bad per say, but they are definitely never in any top tier for graphics no matter what system they may find themselves on.

Well I was looking at that hack and slash game Koei made about Troy for the PS3, and I hope its something a bit more like that.

I haven't played any of their games since the PS2 era.

I don't think they've changed very much since then, at least from what I've heard. I know they do this quasi-expansions called "Legends" and "Empires" that had some added stuff that's more strategic, but I think the basic hack 'n slash gameplay has pretty much stayed exactly the same since the PS2 games.

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends PS3 And PS4 Graphics Compared. December 23, 2013 . 3:54am

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends is out on PlayStation 4 now, but only in Asia and excluding Japan. Here’s a look at how the PlayStation 3 version stacks up the PS4 release.

But since it's on a video player that isn't you tube, I can't make it viewable for you to see on here in the forum . but what they did with this installment has far more detail on the ps4. If Hyrule warriors can be done this way well I'm sure some certain people will be happy with it.

as to the reviews on Dynasty Warriors, I remember when Tommy Tolerico was a reviewer and he did his final review when he started video games live and him and vic were on stage. lets just say it was very memorable . It's in their archive www.epn.tv

DW isn't well liked cause it's repetitive and there isn't much to it other then beating down a crowed that stares at you. or that how it was for as long as it's been around.

I think realistically, we can at least hope for late PS3-esque graphics.

I imagine Nintendo chose Koei because they can get a game out there pretty quick. Some of the other developers who want to work with Zelda would take years, and the final product might actually show up what Nintendo would put out.

Well, the fact that they emphasize that the title isn't final, makes me hope this is some kind of beta. Granted, they change titles' all the time, but rarely do you see them actually saying "title not final" in the promo itself.

Yeah it might not be it's final look visually/graphically any way.

Well, DW isn't so much liked in NA, but it's consumed with vigor in Japan and other Asian territories. I guess it doesn't okay over here, otherwise they wouldn't keep bringing the games with their expansions over here.
