If we got a Skyrim like Zelda...Oooooh boy. I'd never play another game...Ever.

Not true...but still.

I think that is what needs to be done, and with Skyrim releasing, right as Skyward Sword, I'm sure the team will be somewhat inspired by it. I hope.

Having never played Skyrim, I have no idea.

But if we're talking about radical ideas, I wouldn't mind seeing some firearms in Zelda. Given that we've got gunpowder, and pirate themes I'd like to see Link pick up a flintlock or a wheellock some day. Maybe an arquebus.

Something new for his arsenal. Without sacrificing the sword, of course. Some Renaissance era weaponry.

Medieval stasis ftw!

Actually even in the late middle ages they were using matchlock guns.

Play Wind Waker though. Almost felt odd we didn't get a musket. We got to use a cannon and bombs though.

Speaking of WW, I have a question. Is the Fairy Queen connected to Fi in anyway, or is it just coincidence they look alike?

They do have another thing in common....they're kinda creepy...especially the Fairy Queen. Or maybe that's just me.

Zelda's... canon / history is rather flexible. So there could be some connection.

On the other hand, they frequently reuse designs. For example, Midna in Twilight Princess was inspired by Veran from Oracles, and Zant's design was inspired by Onox. No direct relation, just a design relation.

I don't know. If I wanted to play a game like Skyrim... I'd just play Skyrim. I don't think there's anything wrong with the core Zelda formula, especially when each game includes minor improvements. I think Skyward Sword is the best Zelda game. Little things like dashing and upgrading items added so much to the game play.

I also think the story needs to be strong. Linear storytelling just fits with Zelda, and I thought Skyward Sword's storyline was one of the best so far, especially how it contributed to the other games.

Could not disagree more the dashing was irritating as he'll and really a cheap gimmick. You don't seem to understand. It's not about making it gameplay wise like Skyrim read my post again. It's about making the world more immersive more to do and see not changing the mechanics. Actually changing the mechanics in Skyward Sword was terrible upgrading was tedious not fun upgrading that way is not Zelda it could be done but not like SS.

Ironic, cause I think it's the one I liked the least of the 3D titles. Granted, it's still a good game, but it's hardly great. Ocarina of Time is still the standard I hold all Zelda games to.

Actually, I haven't been happy since Wind Waker, really. Twilight Princess was a homage to Ocarina of Time. Trying to recapture that. Which made it feel rather derivative. It wasn't superior to Ocarina of Time. They said it would blow Ocarina of Time away. Yeah that didn't happen.

Zelda needs a whole lot more than dashing and upgrading items.

Actually, upgrading items was pretty good, I shouldn't dismiss that.

A completely realistic Zelda with blend of Skyrim/Assassin's Creed would be perfect. AC's combat system and detailed character models with Skyrim's huge open world. Imagine a Hyrule that actually has a realistic landscape... Lost Woods that is actually a dense forest, or Gerudo Valley that Link actually has to climb through. Playing through AC3 right now and keep thinking that giving Link some freerunning action would be awesome.

Of course I doubt this will EVER happen. Nintendo's idea of "experimental" is Skyward Sword.

Never rule anything out. Majora's Mask was all kinds of crazy "experimental".

I wouldn't dislike a realistic Zelda. Though that would quickly go into horror territory. Just think about what some Zelda enemies would look like in a more "realistic style". Giant man-eating spiders, animated skeletons, zombies (which were already creepy as hell)...

I wasn't a fan of SS' art style.

I might be alone on this, but I kinda want to see a prequel to Majoras Mask, regarding the tribe it belonged to and whatever it did or they did to become so aweso-I mean evil. If it was bad enough and a big enough threat back then, I'm sure that a Link incarnation would have to deal with it.
That, and it's origins always interested me, seeing as we don't know anything about it.

Majora's Mask is the odd Zelda out.

But I would really like to see the magical masks return and possibly Majora. With more forms and depth, that could be awesome.

The cult that made Majora's Mask could have made other masks.

And with better graphics, we can see the forms of Majora...except the one where it has one eye and runs around like a ninny...that was weird.

Well there has been talk of an enhanced port of Majora's Mask for 3DS. So the game is on people's minds.

They do frequently bring back items (the harp in SS is the harp Sheik uses in OoT), so... who knows, one day maybe we'll get the masks back.

Ganondorf has had a dozen games, maybe Majora will get a starring role in a second one.

If they did it for OoT, then their shouldn't be talk of a 3DS version of Majora's Mask. It should be a fact and a release date attached to that fact.

As much as I want a truly realistic Zelda game, I'd still love a console sequel to WW. It's probably my favorite in the series. I wouldn't want to trade one for the other though... getting both at some point would be awesome.

I'd rather see a Virtual Console enhanced remake of it. I'd love to play it on the WiiU.

i want the zelda game to look like this

I only started playing Zelda recently. Like discovered it a year ago basically. Just played TP and SW and they are both pretty good.

Id liek to see a Zelda game thats a bit more Lord of the Rings-ish and less cartoon-like.

I would like a Zelda that took place in the future more like it went through some pseudo-Enlightment era, their would be more modern inventions mixed with the fantastical elements of the Zeldaverse. I know I'm stupid...

I do love the idea of bringing back Majora's Mask and giving it a makeover for the 3DS or better the WiiU (I can dream).
