Playing as a Ganondorf would be flippin sweet. Especially if we get to utilize his power set. Make it happen Nintendo! Milk Zelda instead of Mario! :p

If they could make a Tingle game like Wario's games, I would play the **** out of it.

oh, ****. I didn't know those DS games existed. Were they any good?

I don't know that a Ganondorf game would be something that'd do very well. I'd still probably check it out, I'm a sucker for Zelda related stuff.
I think it could work and sell well, although depending on which version they use. Something tells me WW Ganon.

Hmm. I wouldn't want Ganondorf to be an anti-hero. Not every villain needs to have redeeming qualities or a rare soft side. Ganondorf to me is a straight up badguy, Satan incarnate for Hyrule. To make him somewhat relatable just to justify playing as him? I rather play as him and see him at his most deplorable.

Well, I'd say they made him relatable in Wind Waker. In Ocarina of Time he was just the king of evil. And really, while menacing, there wasn't much else to him. In Wind Waker they made it clear that he hates Hyrule and its people because of the lot of his own people. ...then in Twilight Princess he went straight back to being a simple evil overlord (though that makes sense if you know the timeline).

We really don't know much about Ganondorf. He's rarely on screen if you think about it.

You guys see this?

Kill Screen Daily points out some inspiring news for gamers in general and for Legend of Zelda fans in particular: Dark Horse Comics and Nintendo's collaborative hardcover book on the history of Hyrule, "The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia," is the top selling book on Amazon and has managed to top the New York Times Best Seller list!

The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia was originally released in 2010 as a Japanese-only release - much to the chagrin of Zelda fans in Europe, North America, and other regions. That release was a collaborative effort between Nintendo and Japanese book publisher Shogakukan offering an inside look at never-before-seen concept art, design plans, storyboards and an official timeline of the Zelda series in the twenty-five years since it was first introduced on the Famicom.

Have you seen this? I thought it was hilarious.

does anybody know when the new zelda game is coming out for the wii u .

All we know is that it is being worked on. The Windwaker HD remake will be out in the Fall.

I bought Link's Awakening on 3DS earlier. Still one of my absolute favorite Zelda games. :)

I hope Nintendo makes another top-down Zelda. I'm starting to think that style is preferable to 3D.

I feel the same way, but that might be because the first Zelda game I played (and one of the first video game I EVER played) was Link's Awakening. Nostalgia, baby.

I didn't know there was 3DS version of Link's Awakening, though. When did that happen?

I'm assuming when it launched, or whenever Virtual Console launched for it. I know Link's Awakening was one of the first VC games on 3DS.

Oh a Virtual Console. I thought I'd missed another 3D remake like Ocarina.

So it's been said a million times and it negates my theory that Nintendo should quit the remakes for a while, but damn I'd love me some Majora's Mask HD on 3DS.

Earlier today I saw a short video of a 3DS sequel to ALttP and it actually looks really really nice. Except for the walking on walls thingy.

Kotaku.

Well, I was hoping for an epic 3D handheld game a la Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask.

Maybe next time.

I bought A Link to the Past on the VC to revisit it in anticipation of the new 3DS game and I gotta say, it's way better than I remember. I think as a kid I was easily frustrated by it, but now that I have my adult patience to apply to the game, it's been a whole lot of fun. I've been exploring the game for the last few hours and I'm having a blast.

I'm not saying this won't be a good game, just that I'd take something in the style of Ocarina of Time over something in the style of A Link to the Past in a heartbeat.

See I'm just the opposite. I'd rather have a Link to the Past style game for a handheld over a larger Ocarina sized game. A game like Ocarina or Majora's mask I'd rather play on a big TV on a console. I think that this new Zelda for the 3DS is going to be perfect for the way I do my handhelds.

I love A Link to the Past, In fact I was planning on playing it this weekend on SNES. I think today's handhelds are perfect for a LTTP styled game.

Room for both. We've got the OoT style since...Well..OoT. I see no reason why the hand held Zelda's can't be top down.
