White Sox looked pretty good this weekend ... Granted it was against the Indians but I'll take it.

BTW - It was embarrasing to see such an empty stadium in Cleveland this early in the season. On Saturday, they set a record for their lowest attendance ... only to be surpassed by even lower attendance on Sunday.

First 2 weeks in the season is always the Royals winning days it seems like and then everything falls back into place with Minnesota, Detroit, and Chicago battling for first.

Brilliant

wow

cruz is a straight up beast this year...not a surprise....rangers win :)

What's the old saw?

"You can't win it in April but you can sure as Hell lose it."

So far we ain't losin' it.

:D

Dammit, rain, what did my parade ever do to you?:cmad:

Damn Baker made 2 bad pitches and paid dearly for it. That's the thing with the Yankees you can't get away with making too many mistakes.

So why are the Yankees at number one in ESPN's Power Rankings? Did they get younger and somehow retcon the fact that the Rangers beat their ass in the ALCS?

Didn't the reigning ALCS Champions just sweep the preseason favorite Boston Red Sox?

Jesus, ESPN! Is Brett Favre in the top 10 as well?

Power rankings are pretty useless, don't pay attention to them. And they wouldn't factor events that happened last season.

If they don't factor last season then how do they come up with them before the season starts?

They don't factor last year because rosters change. Power rankings are basically "Who had the best week?"

They have 0-3 teams over 2-1 teams. I wouldn't get too excited if your team was #1 or wasn't #1.

In terms of the first 3 games? No.

Essentially they do preseason rankings by judging teams on paper, like everyone does. If you have the biggest acquisition of talent you're superficially looking better than a team like the Rangers who didn't retain Cliff Lee but kept the core of players that somewhat overachieved last season.

Also, what Spidey said. It's inconsequential fluff based on small sample sizes of play thus far.

Pretty sure the Red Socks should still be ranked higher than the O's.

Over a whole season, yes. Probably not on a week-to-week basis due to constant performance fluctuations. The O's have a good crop of talent (especially pitching), while the Red Sox have the reputation of success and Adrian ****ing Gonzalez.

Damn Royals are hanging tough with the Sox. Sox put up four in the first and the Royals came right back. Things have settled down a bit now.

The Mets rocked Hammels for 6 in the 3rd. At the end of the night they may be in 1st place in the NL East. Who knows how often I'll be able to say that, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
