Because Benoit is arguably their best reliever, and it was shown why. Coke got hammered the other night.

Man A-Rod is such garbage...Interesting off-season, because A-Rod was brutal.

Anyways, congrats to the Tigers...They won game 5 and deserve to move on...Missed opportunities killed the Yanks too

Missed Opportunity is right, 2-9 w/RISP and 11 LOB.

Nothing can be done about A-Rod with such a huge contract. I mean he started off hitting pretty well in April but injuries slowed him down a lot. Maybe he just needs more rest like Jeter did.

So...that's two years in a row that A-Rod strikes out to end the season? Twit. :whatever:

Congrats to the Tigers, they played a great series (and actually showed up for Game 5, unlike our team).

Speaking for a team that ate a lot of A'Roid's contract...

Enjoy those six years left on his contract. I was hoping to defeat the Yanks in the ALCS again, but getting home field is nice too.

Nice going, Tigers. This series will be a squeaker.

P.S. You notice that I've been accepted to the Rangers. That's why I keep saying, "We" and "I". :D

They have to figure out a way to get rid of A-Rod. Just a terrible player in postseason.

Cant stand his constant swinging at bad pitches

Well to be fair he played great in 09. Drove in a lot of tying runs and such but yes in other years he's toxic.

I'm not the biggest A-Rod fan but he's not the only batter up there with the bases loaded not bringing in a run. Each loss was a close game. Multiple players could have tied the game or put the Yankees ahead. A-Rod is just an easy scapegoat.

But he's not only to blame for not hitting, Teixeira played just as bad. A-Rod just won't ever be accepted unless he helps them win like 2 or 3 more titles.

A-Rod looked hurt the entire series... something is wrong with him. Didn't he have knee surgery a while ago?

Rangers/Tigers... gonna be a fun series.

Yea he did and he has a pretty terrible hip now too.

All that needs to be done is a Phillies loss tomorrow and playoffs should be bearable

I'd be up for that since I root for the Cardinals also.

2006 still depresses me. 2007 sucked, but they were such an awful team after May, they would have lost. 2008 they weren't that good even with Santana. They had it in 2006 and just let it slip away. It's my 1988.

New White Sox manager is Robin Ventura, that's certainly a surprise.

ahha yankees.

if the phillies lose next i'll start watching the playoffs.

Felt like I was on the verge of hurling for the last 3 innings of that game last night, but somehow, some way the Tigs got it done. I knew once Leyland lifted Ordonez for Inge in the bottom of the 5th, the team was going into defensive mode and would have to hang on for their lives.

I nearly lost my **** when they walked Teixeira to make it 3-2 in the 7th, and then thank God Jeter flied out to the track to end the 8th. Had he hit the go ahead HR to win the game, the media ******io of him would've been unbearable.

Hope Young is OK to play in the ALCS. He's been unbelievable thus far.

Bring on the Rangers. I think we match-up pretty well against them especially pithcing wise. And we'll have JV ready to fire on all cylinders for Game 1 since Leyland resisted the urge to pitch him in relief last night.
