Over the past 20 years, Barry Bonds has been met with large amounts of both praise and criticism for nearly every move he has made.

Well, here's a move that both sides should finally be able to agree on: Bonds has pledged to pay any future college bills for the two grade-school age children of Bryan Stow, the single father and San Francisco Giants fan who was beaten into a coma by two men after attending the opening night game at Dodger Stadium on March 31.

That little heartwarming nugget was revealed by Stow's attorney Thomas Girardi — and first reported by NBC Bay Area — as he announced a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday for allegedly providing inadequate security at the stadium that night.

Girardi said that donations already made by generous fans of the Giants, Dodgers and other teams will be passed onto other charities if their lawsuit is successful. But the hefty gift from Bonds? Well, that means so much to Stow's family that it's the one they definitely plan on keeping.

One of the coolest parts about this donation is that Bonds made it over a month ago when he visited Stow in a Southern California hospital on April 22. No mention was made to the media then and it looks like it would have still been a secret had Girardi not revealed it to the media. Even if you've always been a Bonds hater, there's no way you can say this wasn't done for all the right reasons.

The Mets owner Fred Wilpon said some stupid **** in an interview...

“(Jose Reyes) thinks he’s going to get Carl Crawford money. … He’s had everything wrong with him. He won’t get it.”

“We had some schmuck in New York who paid (Carlos Beltran) based on that one series. He’s sixty-five to seventy percent of what he was.”

“(David Wright is a) really good kid. A very good player. Not a superstar.”

“(Ike Davis is a) Good hitter. … ****** team – good hitter.”

Pretty stupid stuff to say in an interview. I heard Reyes might be traded before the deadline to possibly the Giants or Blue Jays? I haven't paid much attention to baseball this year.

Giants just lose Posey for the year it seems...Could be possible but I dont know.

Blue Jays need to stay in the hunt and Joey Bats needs to keep hitting bombs all over the place.

Watch Reyes end up with the freaking Red Sux...Beltran will be dealt for sure to a contender. Gut tells me the Cleveland Indians or Brewers

Reyes to the Giants has been talked about here for awhile. I could see it happening with Posey going down. I think they might pony up the money for an extension, too.

I want K-Rod to go. I can see a team desperate for bullpen help getting him for set-up.

Who would the Marlins try and get? I can only see Wright from the Mets for 3B need, but Dobbs is still hitting .300 there form starting/pinch hitting...yet, who do the Marlins give up? 4th OF Cousins (best OF arm on the team), AAA/AA guys like Martinez (SS).

Then again..at 29-19..if Hanley can finally WAKE UP on offense..may not need anybody else.

Now if Uggla can also wake up on the Braves...gonna be a SCARY/AWESOME three way battle for NL East.

Not looking good with these owners...Even the Nationals are setting them up nicer then then the Mets.

This upcoming trade deadline will determine alot for the Mets. They need to land a big time prospect x 3

Mets need to make shrewed buys for 2012...Johnny Damon is available and can surely come back to NY and play for the Mets, JJ Hardy for shortstop?, Grady Sizemore?

They're not going to be competitive yet so why waste money on 1-year deals to a bunch of overpriced and washed up veterans? They just need to take their lumps while they rebuild from within. Yes, that means trading Beltran, Reyes, K-Rod, Pelfrey, anyone with a pulse that's making a decent paycheck.

At least bring in low risk high reward old guys to keep the team in a competitive nature next year...Fans will at least entertain the idea of them being competitive a bit or they will be in the cellar for the next 5 years and Citi Field will look like the games at Marlins stadium.

Its tough to play a Pirates, Royals, Astros type of game...It also allows the young prospects they get to develop a bit more before they are brought up.

Ugh, who wants Pelfrey? I can't stand watching him pitch. He walks too many, he gives up too many hits, and he doesn't strike out enough batters to compensate for all the balls he puts into play. He's basically a young Livan Hernandez.
