Official '24' Season 5 Discussion Thread!

He is the show's creator if I'm not mistaken.

Jon Cassar and (starting in season five) Brad Turner direct most of the episodes of 24. Jon didn't direct the pilot episode but he came on in the middle of season one and worked on two episodes (they film two episodes in two weeks). Then in season two he became the main director. He always directs the season premieres/finales and a few in between.

Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran created 24, after working on Le Femme Nikita.

Hey guys what do you think of the rumor of Kim Basinger joining the cast in season 6 ?

wow.. Random cameo.. I'm watching My x-files season 5 dvds.. and randomly there is curtis :P or atleast the guy who plays him roger cross.. as an fbi agent... :0

From start to finish, this season of 24 has been some of the best television I have ever seen. Come January 2007, my eyes will be glued to my TV screen.

Probably fake, just caused by Basinger costarring with Sutherland in The Sentinal...but if it is true, maybe I will get my wish of a female, Hilary Clinton-esque President on 24 next year.

Great finale, I really enjoyed it. This was my first season of 24 watched, and now I'm really into it. Glad to see Logan got what he deserved, he's really a cold-hearted bastard. Bring on January 07 (wow 24 and the final Sopranos episodes, gonna be a great winter for TV)

I think I have to go watch all of season 4 now

That's a real shame because this is the second worst season of 24. That doesn't mean it was bad but it's nothing compared to seasons 1-3. Anyway I saw the finale and I felt letdown. It was a fairly decent season compared to the last one which although more exciting was completely over the top and unbelievable. This season was just dull. I am glad it ended the way it did because it seems they may go in a different direction next season. I don't want to see Jack Bauer rescue the world yet again. It's getting repetitive.

Awesome season finale. I would have like to find out where Wayne and Curtis disappeared to but I guess it's not that important.

Wayne is formulating political plans. Curtis is off training to be like Jack.

Remember the agent that the Chinese identified during the embassy raid because he got his mask taken off, the one who named Jack? I wonder if he help the chinese behind the scenes? They never showed them release him. I don't have season 4's dvd, so is there a deleted scene where they show this agent being released?

Also remember they threatened that same agent with being put in a hard- labor prison camp? I'd like to see Jack in such a prison camp in season 6, ala Bond in Die Another day, with long hair and a full shaggy beard.

The chinese are gonna have a hell of a time getting bauer to talk. That's why i think he just ask them to kill him. Not because he was scared but because they'd be wasting their time. remember jack was tortured badly in season 2 and didn't break. Also, he was trained by Henderson, who also didn't crack under intense torture at the hands of CTU. Henderson put himself in some kind of 'trace' and then suddenly sprung back to life and killed Tony Almada, so i think Jack knows these same techniques at dealing with the pain of torture. Plus like he told Logan, he has nothing to live for now......

They should start next season with Jack sitting in a bar having a drink with Curtis, Chloe and Buchanan. Jack toasts his friends and says "Thanks for getting me out of that Chinese prison, guys".

"No problem Jack," says Curtis, "That was some day."

Then you start the new season.

Just image how easy it would be to get Jack to talk if the chinese got a hold of Kim!

yeah it wont be that easy irony man
I thought he meant it as a tease to what would have been quite an adventure in between season 5 and 6, and could even be the movie.

Nope, they set him up.

What I'm curious to know is if the agent that informed Jack of the call was in on it.

yeah he probably wasnt even an agent, man chinese people are sneaky people, just ask the irs. j/k

I don't know if he wasn't an agent. I bet he was. Someone would have noticed if he was just some guy hanging out.

Best scene of the night: Logan pimp slapping his wife!

Did Martha know about the recording device? Im guessing yes with that smirk of hers.
