I dont care about Bishop enough to want to see him saved. He's never been a favorite of mine. I dont need him dead but a long stint in limbo would be very welcomed.

Considering Wolverine is virtually indestructible nor would he ever really be killed off, wishing so is a moot point. For the records there are TONS that would rather not see him in their books, many of which are here and have expressed that. I feel he's beyond overexposed and Marvel really needs to cut that down big time

I have no problem with Storm as an X-men. My issue is that she no longer feels like one. The way things are, she simply doesnt work. Cyclops and Storm head the team up and she doesnt fit in with them. She's extremely out of place in SF. She's a huge character and if they are going to handle her here in such a small capacity, then they migjht as well not have her here. Keep her over in Black Panther where she is a leading star and has the power and leadership that follows her. It felt as if Marvel was trying to give her the Wolverine treatment by placing her in Black Panther, Fantastic Four and the X-books but the overexposure burnt her out. If they want to make her a viable X-character again, they need to fully do that and have her permanetly move back to the line and not showing up here and there. That also includes leaving BP. UXM and AXM are not the place for her. She needs to start up her own Xmen team. Rejoining Xavier would do her wonders and I can see her taking charge over in Legacy, not so much in the other 2 core titles

i could see her in Legacy too, especially since she is one of the few that are still loyal to Xavier...but a team with her gambit AND rogue??? actually, throw in Sunfire, cannonball, iceman and sentinel girl...awesome lineup

oh yeah. Bishop is one of my favorites. i keep him close to heart.

Psylocke is a white underneath the face, so I don't think of her as asian.

And no I'm not Japanese, I'm Taiwanese, or Chinese, depends.

my apologies. a Taiwan mutant....isnt there one out there? and yeah. i get ya point, at least i see representations of black characters on a regular basis...but still....can they be written to be likeable at least?

Darwin is supposed to have grey skin, though. That's part of his mutation. The new artist, Valentine DeLandro (one of the few black comic book artists I can name), is giving him the same face as J. August Richards from Angel.

Actually Darwins skin isnt technically meant to be grey. Hes half black, half hispanic, but its been theorised that where hes in a constant state of evolution his skin will constantly adapt and change colour to fit the environment.
As hes mainly in areas where his surroundings reflect the climate of the Europeans, pale skin is better suited to the climate. Were he to move to a much hotter area, his skin would change colout to be best suited to that climate.

Well, he's in Detroit and still pale. So there goes that theory.

It's okay. I've past the point of feeling insulted by being mistaken for a Japanese. :cwink:

A Taiwanese mutant? Oh hell no, I'm perfectly fine that my country is being left out, I got my Scottie, and that's all I ever need.

I think they'll pull a dramatic twist in the end for Bishop...he's a good guy at heart, just desperate and afraid, and is doing something Cable, or any other people who grow up in their time will do if their places were switched.

Bishop literally destroyed the world. I don't think anyone except for All New Cyclops would've gone that far.

Desperate people do desperate stuff, I guess Bishop was just thinking 'There's nothing to lose, if I let the baby survive, she will make all mutants live in hell anyway.'

And Cable has proved himself to be quite ruthless if he saw fit in the past, I suppose it has something to do with being a mercenary who has to be alert for every single second in your life in a hostile world.

Bishop isn't very rational at this moment, too afraid I'll call it, so I won't blame him.

For me, Storm is in a very similar situation that Scott was in back in the 80s when he tried to return to the X-men after marrying Maddie. His true duties lied elsewhere and the team moved on from him and the status quo changed without him. The only way for him to have worked was to form his own team, which he ended up doing with X-factor. I think thats what Storm needs to do as well bc I cant see her working under Cyclops and Emma's watch

thats exactly how i feel. is any of this being covered in 'Worlds Apart'? i haven't read it since the first issue.

Yes, in a way. Storm to me seemed to be taking a more commanding role, like when they had the Blue and Gold teams in X-Men/Uncanny. Will have to see what the next issue shows about this.

I actually like the links to Forge that have been laid out. The guy hasnt had anything much to do with anything for so long, despite his tenure as leader of X-Factor.

when was he LEADER of X-factor? i remember him being there..but leader? that was when he and mystique were boning right? was havok not around? was Forge truly in charge? I want Forge back and actually doing something other than being bishop's *****.

yeah Forge was leader when they went underground. Havok was hanging with the Brotherhood by this point

oh yeah....damn. i was reading that book then too.....i thought the book got great once they shed the original x-men and the random crew

man these marvel ladies get around. Emma, Mystique, Black Widow, and who knows how many guys someone like Enchantress has been with.

Not a bad issue overall.
Do like the interaction between the team...

...though what was with Cyclops sudden slagging off Forge? was a bit out of nowhere. They ever actually served on a team together?

Where is Sentinel girl? She's awesome I get the bionic part but what is her mutant ability?

Nothing against the asian Psylocke but I always liked the original British Betsy Better...I really like Armor and it looks like they are ready to clean up the mess that has always been Karma..

BTW Bishop has been completely annoying all through Cable and given what a great cop/cool character he had the potential to be this characterization is just completely ridiculous almost an insult to what went before;so yes better dead than ******ed. I was hoping he was a Scrull.

Storm is also annoying in the same way Phoenix got annoying when she was all powerful and in the same way Mystique is annoying in that she's been around way too long doing the same stupid crap- the character is stale.

This isn't the first time either. The first antidote for the boredom was depowering ,shaving her head, hand to hand combat and a legitimate romantic interest, and the street cred she won for leading the Morlocks...that made her good and interesting for a long while plus her competition with Scott..It has nothing to do with skin color...

It's simply time to shake things up again for her..If Jean comes back it will be the same thing ..Be relevant or get the hell out so a new character can help redefine the xmen..
There's more diversity than ever on the teams lately. The only change they need now is some reorganization...

the sentinel 'ability' IS her power. she isnt a mutant...just likes hanging around them..despite her powers actually being programed to destroy mutants...go figure...i like her too tho

I agree with 99% of what was said...except killing Bishop...dammit..he has a hell of a redemption story coming...it just has to be written....NOT better dead than ******ed...******ed people need love too. I was hoping for Skrull too but whatever.

...oh, and Storm, well, including her jut for the hell of it IS pretty stupid..but it's Ellis. He does stupid things. dislike him as much as i do PAD...no, MORE

Just read the last issue. How could Emma not know that about Storm's time depowered back in the 80s? Considering she was leader of the X-men, thats something she would have made it her business to know. In UXM 207, Storm is among the X-men when they fight the HFC. Emma wasnt but I would assume she'd know about it through them. Not to mention that around this time, Magneto was a member of the X-men and HFC, so she should have known via that connection as well. Plus in New Mutants 51, Storm is with Magneto when he joins. Im sure Emma would have scanned her mind for her own safety bc she couldnt trust that the X-men wouldnt be ambushing them. In NM # 38, she became the student's headmistress and used that oppurtunity to scan their minds while they were asleep for info. Storm's lack of powers should have been something she came across

Eh, it's probably a fact that slipped by her. You can't just assume Emma knows things that happened to the X-Men that she herself wasn't involved in, or anything at all that happened prior to when Emma first took a teaching job for Xavier.
