Personally, I'd be happy if they said that Colossus put someone else in charge and abandoned Breakworld. I just want someone to say "Hey, remember when you ruled an entire planet for like 5 minutes?"

it will come back in dramatic fashion. he'll have his own versions of Calisto and Marrow blaming him for some unfortunate event and now he must be punished...it'll prolly be the arc in which Kitty is brought back and saves the day

My fault. Gotta watch the way I phrase stuff.

Thing is, aside from Kitty's death, no one but Ellis has acknowledged the stuff that went on during Whedon's run. Hisako has appeared in two panels of Uncanny (and only because she was talking to Pixie), Colossus has made no mention of the fact that he's the present ruler of Breakworld, and the X-Center somehow has an all new Danger Room with no mention of Danger's AI.

How about writers everywhere just forget about Whedon's writing :o

I liked Whedon's run. You're just bitter because all Colossus did was sex up Kitty a few times and stand in the background.

His AXM ranged from decent to awesome, and his Runaways... was forgettable.

the only arc on AXM that I liked was Torn. The rest was meh to me

I liked all his writting, but i hated the LOOOOONG periods between issues

Plus in New Mutants 51, Storm is with Magneto when he joins.
hmmm my bad, Storm wasnt just there with Magneto when he joined the HFC, she actually joined it with him as joint White King

Ahhh. Thread needs to be bumped up.

Surely we'll eventually get the arc's ending and spend a whole five minutes wondering what went wrong with whatever Forge has been doing.

There's nothing new to talk about though really. The last issue was months ago, and nothing happened in it besides some muddy looking alternate universe mutants got hit and all said Forge's name at the same time right after the three pairups had been separately *****ing about Forge.

I wonder if they're foreshadowing Forge's involvement.

Seriously, what the hell is up with...?
A. Warren Ellis constantly teaming up with slow artists (Cassaday, Bianchi)
B. Astonishing X-Men constantly getting slow artists (Cassaday, Bianchi)

Actually whedon's run is getting some love really soon. Carey is going to have Danger show up in X-Men Legacy, and I have a feeling he'll writer her better than Whedon did.

So close to dropping, it's not even funny.

hahhahaha...this book has become X-Men unlimited..it comes out when it wants to

And it doesn't even matter either. That's why it kills me that AXM is some people's only exposure to the X-Men.

does unlimited actually come out anymore?

i dont like that they relaunched the numbering! i hate when they do that. whats the point? (not that i collect unlimited, i only have like two issues...)

Unlimited hasn't come out in years. The last run really kinda sucked, so no surprise there. :(

There really is no point in Astonishing anymore other that to allow Marvel's favourite creators who they don't want to lose to DC exclusivity to write the X-Men however they want with no regard for what's happening in any other marvel book. Because its so freaking slow that all Astonishing stories can be assumed to have taken place within two days or less and have no lasting ramifications (aside from Piotr's return).

I hate when editors do interviews and express how excited they are about a relaunch of a series, or the next chapter of a series with a new creative team. Because if its a notoriously late book and they're asked about repeating past scheduling mistakes they throw out the same bullcrap about the pages being awesome and having so many issues in the can already that they've got a good headstart. Never, ever, EVER happens. And THEN you find out at the end of that arc/era/whatever that the stories and creator teams were decided on three years ago at a retreat. So when exactly did they begin this headstart? Three months before release of #1? Maybe even 6?
