I dropped this title today. Never abandoned an X-book before(aside from CC's Exiles). :o

I've already forgotten what it was about. :p I've dropped lots of titles but never an X one, not with the main guys in the cast.

Ellis is the epitome of a professional writer. I highly doubt he's the reason for delays.

In other news, after a 2 year delay, Warren Ellis has handed Ben Templesmith the script to the next issue of Fell.

That was because of a computer death, not because he's lazy. The delay comes from his own choice as a result of what happened.

I don't think any of his Marvel work has been delayed because of slowness on his part. Ultimate Secret was delayed because of McNiven, no surprise there. I'm fairly sure Thunderbolts and Ultimate Human were on time. His current Ultimate Armor Wars has been on time. The first few issues of his Astonishing X-Men were, as well, before Bianchi became the problem. What about Iron Man and nextwave?

Okay, so Ellis doesn't delay on his scripts very often. But you gotta admit, whenever there's a delay, it's one long effing delay. I don't even remember how long it took him to write the final issue of Planetary (though Cassaday didn't help by taking 2 years to draw it).

I've seriously considered dropping this title. Anyone else doing this? The delays are too long, the story not that all interesting. Plus, I think I'm good with X-Force and Uncanny X-Men.

To be the dissenting voice (what? This is new?), no, I'm not seriously considering dropping this title. I'm not even unseriously considering dropping this title.

Why? Because Warren Ellis is one of the best ****ing writers in the superhero genre today, and I like quality.

But why have quality when you can have mindless action and out of character behavior in X-Force?

I like X-Force, too, actually, but I don't read it for any reason other than what it is: ass-kicking goodness with wonderful artwork, whether Crain or Choi.

I do love Choi/Oback's art, but X-Force... who am I kidding? I'm hating because I'm still bitter at what the writers did to Academy X.

Mind you, being aware of my illogical hatred of that title isn't going to get me to read it.

For the record, there was no chance of you convincing me otherwise. :D

Ellis's X-Force was crap...as were ALL of his ReLoad titles. Perhaps his 'quality' has improved since...my opinions, of course.

I totally agree with you on Ellis, but the title just takes too long and this particular arc just hasn't gotten my attention. The only characters that I feel he does perfectly is Scott and Hank. Other than that, this makes me miss Whedon.

what we can't have any fun anymore? X-Force may not be the best and the writers aren't as talented as Ellis, but at least the title ships on time and delivers on what I thought it would: bloody, ****nuts action. Not that I want that from AXM, but I know where my expectations lie with it, sdomething I just can't find with it anymore. Not to insult or anything, but that's just my 2 cents.

AXM is a boring, uneventful book that should have ended when Whedon left. I fail to see the appeal in it. I think X-force is infinitely much better than it. Writing and art.

I like reading good stuff. Thus, this arc has my attention and interest. Admittedly, though, I like most of Ellis's topics and plots and weird technobabble about stuff.

And he handles all the characters well. That's one of Ellis's biggest superhero trademarks. He doesn't care who he's writing - he'll write them well.

It's called literary worth.
