I thought the faces of some characters seemed kind of squashed in comparison to previous issues, but otherwise still very good.

How can anyone say that the art in this is crap? It's miles above most of the other art out there.
Land? Salvador?

And when did Kitty get this Fran Dressler perm? lol

Land? Maybe? Salvador? With Sal's recent stuff, hell no he's not better than Cassady. I said most, and all you can give me is 2 artists to try and go against him just proves my point.

And Kitty's always had that hair since the start of the Danger arc.

Uh, I'm gonna disagree on Land. His art is airbrushed crap, and has no depth of meaning or feeling to it at all. And I haven't liked Larocca since the early days of X-Treme. I'd take Cassady over those two anyday.

I liked Land on Endsong because of the way he could showcase everyone in a mini, but everything else is way too... plastic.

and I agree that this is still the best-drawn X-book right now.

Will Cassaday go with Whedon to Runaways?

*perks up* Whedon is going to Runaways?

Yeah.....dunno how happy I am about that. There are a couple threads in the Marvel comics forum if you want to check it out.

Whedon's going there might be enough for me to pick it up. Thanks. :D

Nope, Michael Ryan will be the artist joining him there. He's the current artist on New Excalibur. Don't know what will happen to Cassaday, but it's likely that he may just stop for awhile, since things in Hollywood are picking up for him.

That's why I said maybe on Land. His stuff looks pretty, but doesn't always seem to fit great with the action and such. He's hit and miss. However, he does seem to finally be getting better and doing slightly more original stuff, rather than looking out for pictures and then trying to make them fit in with the action. Look at his new stuff for Ultimate power:

Some of it actually works.

That's definitely better, but still too portrait-esque for my taste. At least Cassady has a clear sense of storytelling.

Wow, that art is great, but I can see some repeated poses from Endsong and Ultimate FF in the girls. The lizard girl (I don't know who she is) in the first panel looks like a green clon of Jean in one of the panels of Endsong.

And what the hell is going on with Ben discovering flesh or something like that under his rock *skin* in every title (he just did that in UFF #34). I though one time was enough XD. Maybe he stuck the rocks back and they fell down again

This was so funny I just have to share it:

RYAN: "Her biggest crime is that she's the creepiest bald granma in the history of art. Seriously, would you let this thing near enough to pinch your cheek...?"

RYAN: "Ugh. Mix that visual with old person smell and you have the most terrifying granma/villain ever. And her presents probably suck at Christmas."

BRIAN: [in Katherine Hepburn voice]
"Here you are, dearie, I've knit you a sweater with ducks on it. Also, I killed China."

Land could in many respects be one of the best artists in the industry, and I know one day he will be recognized as much. He's a great storyteller. But right now I feel his main problem is that some of his female poses seem a little unnatural-- and it's from no lack of skill. I think the unnaturalness comes from his trying to make them look so sexy all the time. I like that he draws great looking women, but sometimes (sometimes) I don't need sexy poses, I need emotion. Case in point-- Wolverine's face on AXM 17 is priceless, the emotion is just awesome! I know Land can draw like that, but he often sacrafices that talent for sexy poses when it comes to women and the unnatural poses just hurt... But certainly he's far from crappy, and his colorist is brilliant, on the same level as Laura Martin, and Paul Neary. Oh well Greg. Here's hoping...

The sexy (and repetitive) poses are due to his overuse of photoreferencing... and his love of porn, perhaps.

He draws great-looking women based on pictures of great-looking women. My issue is that he draws the same woman using multiple photoreferences sometimes, and so the look clearly varies so much from cell to cell, page to page, issue to issue.

His colourist is definitely brilliant.

Heh. Seriously, whose idea was it to make Cassandra a twin of Xavier? Cause yikes.

I do however enjoy her incredibly as a villian.

That was one of Morrison's better ideas. I loved the panels with baby Cassandra looking maliciously over at her twin from within the womb. Scary stuff.

I wasn't too fond of the idea, but once you realise what the Mummadri+thus cassandra, really are, its pretty cool :)

Priceless. :D

Jeez, it's so weird seeing him w/o the visor. This'll take some getting used to; but I support the visor-loss.

That final page of Scott is simply brilliant...in just five issues, Whedon has made me totally hate Emma. This is amazing! I love that shot (no pun intended).

I was never a big fan of Emma so I was like "Yay!" :D
