It's ridiculous...Emma was my favorite character all the way through Morrison's run, and right through the first 11 issues of Whedon's. And then BAM! Like that, she turns into the über-***** that I love to hate. It's really quite astonishing.

Land? Maybe? Salvador? With Sal's recent stuff, hell no he's not better than Cassady. I said most, and all you can give me is 2 artists to try and go against him just proves my point.

And Kitty's always had that hair since the start of the Danger arc.

It's not that I can only give 2 names, it's just that i don't know them. The art in Young Avenegers/Runaways, the art in Civil War, Sensational Spiderman, Alex Ross, X-Men Civil War (with the exception of Bishop), Ed Benes, I like those. I'm not saying that I don't like Cassady's work overall, but lately, it HAS looked like $#!T. But not as bad as Bachalo's tho. Thank the upper powers for small favors.

Oh, and the question on Kitty's hair was rhetorical. :)

I haven't been a big fan of the CW:XM art... largely because they're drawing Beast all wrong. Paquette draws scenes quite well, but I don't like how he draws and shades faces. Makes everyone look really old.

Agreed, but atleast his art isn't getting worse. It's consistent.

It *has* only been three issues, out of a four issue arc :)

Oh, how foolish of me. This is his FIRST time drawing, so there's no possible way that I could've seen his work before this... OH NO WAIT, I HAVE seen his art before, so I guess I do have grounds for my judgement other than the 3 issues of CW XM. Goody for me!

hahahahaha... dmy, i just didn't know what you meant.

people'd been talking about cassaday's lowered quality within the series, not altogether as an artist.

I see. I just would like to see Cassaday back at where he was. Ya know? It urks me when the art starts off really well and then dwindles. If u are gonna do a $#!TTY job, stay with it the entire run, or better yet, improve near the end. And having Cassaday going thru whatever it is he's going thru and having Bachalo too, is just a much for me. lol. I can't take it.

The running theory is that he's skimping on quality to make his deadlines... I'm pretty sure I'd read that the delays, and then the two months between issues, were due to Cassaday and not Whedon. And now that his movie's been picked up, I don't expect that it'll get any better towards the end of his run.

I have a theory on Perfection.
What are the chances that she is to Emma what Nova is to Xavier?

A mummudrai? I REALLY hope not. That was idea that should only have been used ONCE, if that much.

So does anyone else think Joss has some sway with the artist?

Emma Frost is my favorite X-Men, infact she is the reason I got back into reading X comics. What do you all think will be the out come for this for Emma? I don't want her to die nor do I want to see here become a villian. I hope that the Emma trapped by Kitty is the real one, and that the White Queen is just a clone or something. What are everyone elses thoughts on Emma's fate?

Maybe one dies but not the other. There appears to be two of them now. :D

Hmm. Perhaps Cassandra Nova split Emma in two on Genosha and made two Emmas? One that's the former evil half, and the other that is the good girl with a snarky *****y attitude.

the diamond-form flashback scene was pre-genosha right?

I really hope she either dies, goes back to being a villain, or whatever else would take her out of the X-Men.

THe way she is written in AXM I could see the possiblility of her going bad again, but in other titles like NXM and even her part in the Civil War 1, that just doesn't seem like it would happen.

Emma's not going anywhere people. I think Marvel is making that practically clear and I'm glad of it. Emma's not a bad character. She's no where near the likes of say Jean, Storm, Rogue, or Psylocke, but she's still a nice X-Woman to have around.

Exactly......Emma hasn't been bad for like a decade now....Emma is fun character to write becuase of her attitude......and whateva book she in its gonna sell copies.....Emma is great this way.....and has a ton of fans ever since GM's run....

I totally love Emma Frost. I was never a huge follower of the comics, mainly the Fox TV series from a long way back, but after GM New X-Men, I was sucked in and Emma was part of the reason. I love how Emma is always (when her writing is at it's best) written as pushing Scott... Earlier, the idea of Jean always led Scott when she was around, but the connection they had eventually just became lazy (I'm talking about the writing). Writer's felt they no longer needed to make explicit the deeper motivations of Scott/Jean's relationship. "Reader's 'll know they love each other!" Well, when Grant brought in Emma, not only is she different (better!) than Jean, subsequent writers lost a crutch so now they're forced to think about what the two characters do together, relationship wise. Even better for the readers, there doesn't seem to be so great a consensus on Emma, and Emma/Scott. Some writers who don't like Emma will push her to the back and pull Scott to the forefront, others may follow Grant's idea and have a pushy Emma who is often controversial and in control. The readers win in that sense because at least people are forced to write. What I'm trying to say is that Emma's awesome, she's like what New Coke was supposed to be, and on top of that, she's good for X-men because she forces writers to change things and be dynamic without randomly killing off some b-list character in a seven part crossover with some series you don't read. I'm a New X-Men kid.
