I like most of the new costumes...but the oversized X's need to go.

Dazzlers I don't mind...anything is better than her New Excalibur costume. :o

Plus I like that he finally got Colossus out of his speedo suit.

That must be a bad thing, as you hate storm.

Written by Claremont and, as I've said...

For good or bad, I really am not making up that part. This arc sums up what's inside the mind of the guy that made Storm what she is.

Uptight cow? This is the girl who skinny dips at the mansion and has le$bian threesomes in a hot tub. :whatever:

just finished the new issue the writing and art are awesome, can't wait until next month

so i just finished reading #25- its good, nothing exciting or groundbreaking but its a nice set-up issue. two things i didnt like (beside the art)- i didnt like the "cars" they had. they were just way too sci-fi for my taste and for their purpose and origins. at least they still have the X-Jet. the other thing was their "urban gear". just call them what they really are- "street clothes". if theyre gonna do something like that they should have just gone with something similar to Morrison's uniforms just more "urbanized".

I liked this issue myself as well. My only complaint would be that some of the coloring is too dark. Kept feeling like I wanted to turn the light up in the rooms they were in. :p

That's what i mean!!!! She does all this skanky Paris Hilton ****e and she still acts like this high and might holyer then thou weather witch goddess...and queen of wakanda who sits around tables and intellectually debates the political and ethical consequences of registration.

UPTIGHT COW!!!

Storm is many things (the word "pretentious" comes to mind), but she's hardly uptight.

Greatest story ever. From Xtreme X-Men.

A must read.

It'll make you understand what the character is all about even more so than you think you do.

Hard to think there's anything except the word 'stilted' there to understand.

She does. An angry ant. And she just looks manly in the face. She could have some form of gentle features. I bet u they gonna make her walk around the whole time in comics with no pupils.

She doesn't even look human. Seriously, I can't understand what Bianchi is under when he's drawing this issue. The best he has drawn is Beast, and he's not even human-looking! His debauchery on details like finger lines (wtf?!) and cheekbones, and NIPPLES is just migraine-inducing! He can't even make a proper face! And as I've said, his interpretation of Storm is just crap, from the costume to her face. Is it really hard to draw a woman with some woman face for once?! Even Chyna looks feminine when she's put beside her!

I too feel that this is just wrong. I hope the mini series doesnt have the same art or ill be mad as H-E-L-L!! and Storm's cheek bones are too high. not even healthy!! and emma looks a mess too. Poor girls lookin like drag queens with extra makeup. Beast is like wtf!!

Wow, I thought Bianchi's art looked great..... :(

He does great COVERS. But the inside is just full of pencil shadings and giant nipples. Emphasis on giant. Although I prefer him slightly over than Cassaday, but still not something to fawn about. Sure, his shading is great and the colors really compliment it, but he's trying way too hard in some panels with the faces that they almost look not human. And I thought Larroca's Storm was bad...this...this is just on another level.

I just really hope the future issues get better. I just can't stand looking at Storm looking like an androgynous post-op chola. She's a queen for pete's sake! She can afford a freaking blush on or some baby powder.

I didn't care for this issue. The dialogue seemed really off and unnatural, someone (on some forum, maybe this) mentioned it was like an episode of Gilmore Girls, tons of talking but nothing really gets said. I hate the conversation between Beast and Cyclops and the conversation between Storm and Emma. I also hated the speech Ororo gave over her names. The story was pretty blah, I have no interest in what happens next.

As for the art, its hard to see clearly bc its so dark. Ororos costume looks ridiculous. There were some panels that were great but overall it was just 'eh'.

I'm pretty sure I won't pick this up anymore.

You just haven't learned anything from Master Claremont, have you?

The Goddess' one defining trait is that she can just about do and be everything.

P.S. Not making this stuff up. He said in interviews that her greatest trait is that she can be all, both the fury and rage of the storm.

Bianchi's art IS great. But you forget where we are, squeek! Here there be whining, complaining, and general overreactions. :D

General commentary about the issue:

Right off the bat, it's great that Ellis diversifies and makes it obvious that he's not -continuing- "Joss Whedon and the X-Men." As has been stated in interviews and such, this is his own run, and while everything from the previous issues has happened, it doesn't mean he's trying to continue Whedon's run.

Unfortunately, I think Ellis's usual failing points apply here - some of his dialogue borders on the expository, because that's what it is: exposition. Except it's not in a little narration box, so it feels weird and long-winded at some points. It'll probably be a continuing trend through the rest of the issues, but I hope he's reeled it in some.

When he gets going on his science mumbo-jumbo, it's great. Some of his play-talking is fine, too. He goes a little extreme on Emma - there's one piece of dialogue on the page where she and Cyke are on their way down into X-Base Alpha that's absolutely cringe-worthy, good heavens. And I feel weird hearing Cyke call Beast "Henry" all the time. Ororo? Sure. Emma? Sure. Cyke and Logan? What happened to "Hank"?

He's obviously been spending too much time with Emma. She calls Hank "Henry" all the time. It must be rubbing off.

That excuse and reasoning only goes so far, though, I think.

The major problem I have with this issue (besides the art) is that Scott [BLACKOUT]doesn't call Hank 'Henry', they've known each other since when they were teenagers, Hank is always 'Hank' to the rest of the O5.[/BLACKOUT]

Yeah, kinda sounded weird.

Still, I think it was Ellis' way of having Scott tell Hank he didn't want to have that conversation.

It's kinda like Wolvie alternating between his pet names for Cyke depending on the severity of the situation. :woot:
