Woohoo! More Abby Brand! She really grew on me when I realize that all of her constant mean-mugging toward Hank was her desperate attempt at flirting.

I agree...shouldnt the purpose of the different X-books is to showcase the different X-men

really so there should be three books about Scott, Emma and Logan???

Sure! Why not?

The stated point of Uncanny is to showcase different X-Men. Extra X-books just means extra X-adventures.

How many more mentions of her and Beast's "exploits" do you think we'll get this time?

‘EXOGENETIC,” PART 1 of 5
Abigail Brand, director of S.W.O.R.D., has been in some sticky situations, and she isn’t the type who asks for help to get out of them. But when you’re careening towards Earth in the cockpit of a damaged spaceship after being attacked on an exploding asteroid 7.5 million miles from Earth…it’s time to call the X-Men. They might not have much of a plan, or much of a chance, but that’s certainly never stopped them before. Superstar artist Phil Jimenez joins writer Warren Ellis for the second arc of the mind-bending ongoing series!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

Quoted so people don't have to go back a page.

As long as they remain funny, I don't care.

yes as in different from the same three characters being showcased in Astonishing

No, that's not what the construction of the sentence - well, really, it was simple enough that I shouldn't have to explain it, so I shan't.

Instead: no.

I honestly don't think I'm going to continue with this title now the current arc has finished. It has no bearing on anything else going on in the x-universe, it exists in its own timeframe ignoring any other goings on, and the lineup of the exact same characters that appear in every single issue of Uncanny (which in itself is supposed to be the comic that allows the writer to showcase more assorted teams of X-Men depending on the mission) means if I wanna see Cyke and Beast (cos really - could not care less about Storm, "Armour" or Wolverine's 18th feature that month) I can just read uncanny and pray each month that Iceman gets more than a background appearance in one panel and they stop shining the spotlight on Karma/Pixie/Dazzler.

Well, I'm still kinda enjoying this title, and quite frankly I don't care for what's going on with the rest of the X-titles (I haven't been buying Utopia), so I'm good.

I'm following Cyke around as always, but personally I enjoy Ellis' story and currently the X-Men/DA crossover.

I am really enjoying this Astonishing X-Men, mainly because it isn't part of the main line of x books. But i do agree, that it would be nice to see a bit different of a line up. Iceman is a character that is way underused.

One thing undeniable is Astonishing is the easiest title for newbies to get into the X-fandom, isolated storylines, a handful of (mostly) A-list characters...etc.

“EXOGENETIC,” PART 2 of 5
The X-Men have fought towering, mutant-slaying robot Sentinels before. But never one quite like this. Never a Sentinel made of meat and bone, wearing the skin of one of their own deceased teammates, every technological aspect given a biological solution. And as the X-Men fight for their lives, they’re left to wonder: What could this monstrosity have to do with THE BROOD?
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

Hey, the monster looks awesome, well, awesome as far as a monster's concern.

Better Brood than Skrulls I would say, the later should totally find some deserted planet to stew.

I'm a bit more interested in who this former-X-Man-now-Sentinel person is.
