Well, Peter's kinda running off of the pure craziness of historic madman, Grigory Rasputin, these days.

Turns out Grigori Rasputin really is Colossus' ancestor. Grigori's power, spirit, and pure madness run through the veins of all of his descendents. When Grigori has only one heir left, his spirit will take over their body. Little by little, the Rasputin bloodline has been dying off. When less and less Rasputins live, Grigori's spirit gets stronger, and even starts enfluencing the surviving family members' actions. As such, several Rasputins have become prone to suicide (ie. Peter sacrificing himself to cure the Legacy Virus). The only living Rasputins are Peter, Mikhail, and Peter's illegitimate child in the Savage Land. When only one is left, that person will mentally turn into Grigori. To make sure a madman like Grigori can never have his power, Mikhail has trapped himself in a void from which he can never return.

It's all in the Colossus: Bloodline miniseries. Annoying artwork, a pathetic retcon about Peter's family, but it's an excuse for Colossus behaving unusually evil at any time.

Indeed. For every child Peter has, Grigori Rasputin's spirit gets weaker. If Kitty has a few of Peter's kids, and those kids have kids, and a few kids from an alternate future show up (he's the only character without any), then Peter's days as a lunatic are numbered.

Is there a chance Shaw has no powers? Mayb he was one of the one's who lost their powers after Wanda lost her marbles. I don't know if this is the case please prove me wrong-but it does explain why he's letting his usual arrogant obnoxious self be lead around and manipulated by a group of women. I mean he usually seems chauvanistic like he's running the show. He looks unsure not confident like even he has no idea/control over what could happen u can tell this by how he's looking at them on the cover- he seems to have that Apocolypse I'll join up with whoever's the last xman standing strategy going on....

I've been pretty harsh with the artwork on astonishing-
I usually like my xmen attractive with more definable characteristics than hair color but the artwork on this is Classic.
In fact that's what it reminds me of those great backstories that were in the classic xmen reprints.

So much emotion, plot development/mystery even as shown here without text. I don't know if there are any awards in comics like the Oscars but this book deserves it from the writing to the art definately has taken xmen to another level dear god I hope whedon stays indefinately even if it take s forever 4 the books to come out
satisfied Xfan! to me issue 15 might even surpass the happiness induced by X-3. Now what might be awesome is if whedon get's to write/direct an Xmovie.....

Yeah, Cassandra freaked me out too. The art in this book is just so damn realistic. It real absorbs you into the story. Another moment that freaked me out a little was when Emma was staring right at the reader and said "The Danger Room is angry".

Didn't only 5 issues come out in 2005, and only 2 this year. This book is slow.

I left of in one where Emma's messing with Scott's head and next thing you know the hellfire club is in the mansion.

Well the entire issue was centered around Emma in Scott's mind, deconstructing him from top to bottom till she left him a vegetable. After that the Hellfire started infiltrating the mansion one by one, starting with Cassandra in Beast's lab.

Finally got my hands on #14...I love this book. The interaction between the characters is so on point...my favorite part of the issue was when Cyclops called Emma a sick b*tch...and I love Emma. The art is so dope also...and to think my dumbass wasn't really crazy about the art when I first read the first TPB. The issues can't go on long enough...I get disappointed when I get to the end because it just doesn't feel long enough...as opposed to Adjless, which doesn't end soon enough.
