maybe there are two sides of emma. the emma who was the white queen but surpressed by the emma who wanted to change. and the bad emma manifested her self outside of emma's mind with the help of nova.

Yes, I read that too. But if Perfection is Jean it wouldn't actually be the real Jean Grey because she's in the White Hot Room and all that stuff. So they wouldn't technically be bringing Jean back lol. I know it's too round-about, but I want some Jean

So, Maddie's existence is technically up for grabs for any writer that wants to tread that muddy, backwater swampland of continuity.

I LOVE the muddy waters. I WISH like hell marvel would hire an entire crew to make sure all continuity is accurate... I'd be eternally grateful!


As far a perfection goes... Maybe it's Emma's mumurdrai... Since Emma is a big F*@K up, then her opposite would be perfect!

I thought she was great and cool and all that, well up until the demonic possession and all, but other than that, she was a nice girl! And and important ally to the X-Men

Its sad that someone like Madelyne once had a good heart, but when Scott left his kid and her behind after hearing the news about Jean, she was crushed and she never heard from him again...so... she was pretty upset and mad and things got worse.

From what I understand, there was a lot of apologizing and forgiving going on.

She was in the Hellfire Club for a while, and in a relationship with Sebastian Shaw. Willfully.

Of course, she later betrayed the club to help Cable, but she's still a former member like Emma.

MArvel did say that Jean would not be returning soon, that she is dead... she wont be back in Warsong (not resurectedn anyway!), so I dont think that Perfection will be Jean for that reason....

Maddie is a much better guess...

The thing is, once she is reaveled, it has to be shocking, not just a - who is that, moment...

Yeah, but Maddie knows what it's like to be with Scott and always be compared to Jean... although for more obvious reasons. Also, Scott walked out on her and the baby to be with Jean, so I think Maddie is entitled to a little s***-talking.

I don't know if I like Maddie coming back unless she's a twisted diva with dark humor and true hate as depicted in the XMEN INFERNO series (altho not quite as plucked). And yeah I could see her being nuts enough to talk trash with Emma about Jean who better? (she's a little nuts remember?) She could be the perfect new Black Queen Sebastien's always looking for basically someone with a serious hate on for the xmen who can destroy them from within...

It's like Perfect revenge against Jean if she's been guiding or controlling Emma all this time. She Madelyne got to break up Jean's marriage by getting him to cheat (Jean kinda conveninetly got Scott by defualt as Maddies demise was neatly not delt with by the end she kinda just went away-) just like jean did her a la: what goes around comes around ,once a cheater..etc..
And she totally gets to mindf**k Scott! Emma could just be a pawn. And if Maddie as perfection is not just controlling Emma but posessing her she's sleeping with him too! and did god knows what to his brain last issue...
Best revenge motive yet. It has potential to be interesting because you'll have a great truly evil character ....I'd love to see a "O no you didn't take my man" slugfest between Maddie Emma & or Jean in any combo..

I bought the Astonishing X-Men hardcover today and It's everything I anticipated. Joss Whedon's writing is excellent,John Cassaday's artwork is equally good and I like the way Whedon cut the team into 5 key members and I read issues 1-5 and I'm excited to get to the next few and Emma Frost is a damn *****.

That's great, except Maddie wasn't evil when Nate Grey accidentally resurrected her a few years back. She came back, got into a little scuff with Jean, became the Hellfire Club's Black Rook for about a week, and got over it. She fought by Nate Grey's side against evil. Her ghost has even made up with Cyclops since then.

If it is Madelyne, I can see this all as a test to Emma's allegiance. Maddie does share a connection to the Phoenix Force, and is a very powerful psychic. She could be fabricating the rest of the Hellfire Club in Emma's head to see if (given the choice) would Emma remain loyal to the X-Men?

When I said I could imagine Emma & Maddie talking s*** about Jean, I meant it in a "talking behind that b***h's back" sorta way.

I like the mummudrai idea but wouldn't that have to mean that Emma is somehow linked to the Shi'ar considering that the mummudrai is a Shi'ar legend. Anyway, wouldn't it be cool if Pefection had been influencing her life for years like leading her students to their death, forcing her brother into madness or even the one behind diamond bullet incident.
