The question is, is it intended to be insane or is it insane because the guy writing it has lost his damn mind?

Just like with Grant Morrison, the answer is the writer lost his damn mind for the sake of our enjoyment.

It's basically a Frank Miller situation. Which would explain Drz's undying luff for it.

Yeah but with Miller he knows what he's writing is insane. I don't think that's the case with Adams.

Morrison didn't lose his mind. He's just is on a higher state of consciousness. He isn't insane, he's super sane.

Disagreed, i mean he's setting up Batman on an Odyssey thru hell while Sensei has attempted to break Batman's morals and whatnot, he has a clear plan what to do in the comic, just wait for the trade buddy boy! :hrt:

Oh, I don't doubt he has a clear plan but with Miller's insanity I can tell that he's cutting loose and having a great laugh while Adams I feel like he's trying to construct a serious story but missing the mark. Odyssey is one of the most inadvertently surreal Batman stories ever. I'm still finding it entertaining as hell though.

Well I've been away for awhile so I have a few questions.

Kinda pissed how they brought Gilda back, Kinda thought the mystery of her disappearance was what made Long Halloween so legendary. Why?

Second why would they relaunch action comics when it is so close to 1000 issues?

If its a relaunch why is Damien still around?

I guess that's all for now.

They're relaunching Detective too.

I don't know anything about this Gilda stuff, so I'll leave it to someone in the know.

They're relaunching everything, but it's kind of a soft reboot. Batman and GL keep their recent continuity, while Superman, Wonder Woman and pretty much most everybody is getting a reboot. They'll then pick and choose whats in and whats out of the new continuity. One of which is that Damien is still around, Dick is Nightwing again, and Barbara is back to being Batgirl.

Made an attempt at what I think they should have done for Batman's redesign

I was thinking Young Justice with the body details, but I didn't look at any reference so they came out looking sort of lame and not very Young Justice-y. So, pretend he looks like the Young Justice Batman in that respect.

I also think they should have kept the oval for now (as I've said before, I prefer the plain bat, but it's been a while and the oval is refreshing). Finally, instead of all this armour plating and gauntlets and things, I think some small details added to trunks and gloves and whatnot would do the trick as far as adding some visual depth.

That's really good Saint

It needs a bit more codpiece but other than that i am really digging that design

There really is not going to be a Batman reboot. It is just going back to #1. Why you ask, well because people will buy more #1s than they will #700s.

I won't.

I want to keep my numbering becoming epic.

I want a Detective Comics 1,027 in 40 years...

Batman pretty much looks the same which is good. So does Aquaman, Flash and Green Lantern (still hate Diana's costume) WTf does Superman have an armored suit ? Cyborg upgrades makes him look more machine than Man now .

Somebody mentioned before and I think it needs to be pointed out again.

With all the awesome tech in the DCU, why does Cyborg still have visible machine parts? Effin' Amazo looks more advanced than he does.

Batman looks way too robotic, i mean whats the point of all those extra lines and whatnot, it just makes Pencilers waste time doing those. :p Yeah thats a good point also Anubis, i guess Cyborg is just CYBORG AND PROUD! He's not afraid to show who he really is!

Armorthon.

Provided by Stark industries.

@Anubis

Totally, that design fells like an early 90's throwback.

So I finally read "Dark Knight, Dark City." it's crazy how much of it went into Batman and Robin.

Yeah just get rid of all those pointless lines, change the belt to black, and it's fine. I feel like the yellow belt is really standing out, it works better with the oval. Without the oval, why not make it black?

Seems like Man-of-Bats and his son are community service people who help out drug addicts, but is there a larger scheme here now? Or is it just Batman wanting Man-of-Bats using his talents for a larger mission? :)

Well back in the black glove arc he seemed like a competent surgeon, so I can see why he'd be the reservations local doctor. That suicide note though..... there may be more to it. I keep getting reminded of Dr.Hurt scene with Le Bossu and how they faked that guys suicide to shame his paraplegic wife. hmmmmm
