well, him escaping this predicament was a pretty integral part of the story. so, it was kinda important to me that it wasnt written so cheaply. i still recognize the story arc overall has been really solid though.

You'd think with Nolan's movie coming out that they'd try and play up the more refined genius aspect of the character. But no, we get this.

I've read the issue now and Bane's design makes my soul cry

He looks like an Image character on crazy amounts of steroids

At least he was still written as intelligent and not a dumb thug

Didn't help that Finch's covers always look tacky as hell to me which doesn't help in selling me on the book. That and the superfluousness of the series itself was enough to go "**** another Batman book".

It's just average really

Not utterly awful but nowhere near as good as Bat-books like Batwoman, Batman or Batman & Robin

Surely this series can't be creatively satisfying to him. Because if he goes the book is as good as done.

@Dark Knight90: Honestly this is goodness. Only Morrison and Adams are pitting Batman againts so strange, outright crazy obstacles instead of your usual "oh this happened in Gotham".

Oh by all means... go as wacky as you want with Bats, just as long as the quality of the story is good.

Adams is severely lacking here in both his writing and sadly, his art abilities.

No way cause O'Neil's style is too serious for a story like this due to it's self importance; and like Adams he's also not as good as he once was.

Well wasn't Frank Miller attached to this at one point? His style would have complemented this in weird way I think. And I imagine Denny and Neal have a great working relationship, maybe the two of them would have complement each other?

The combined insanity of Frank Miller and Neal Adams would make the comic so insane that reading one issue would drive you mad

It would be like In the Mouth of Madness but with more Batman riding dinosaurs and less Old Ones

And finds himself in Gotham living out the insane plot of the series

If Batman: Odyssey is part of a plan by Neal Adams to summon ancient Lovecraft inspired monsters to earth that would make so much sense
