Batman rides dinosaurs and fights underground trolls!

And meets Egyptian gods and wizards who are friends with aliens. It's the most insane comic book I have ever read and I love it :atp:

Neal Adams must be on some amazing drugs while he's writing this

Oh yeah, I forgot that Captain Cold looks stupid now too. Who's next? Killer Frost? Is no ice-themed villain safe from DC's new vendetta?

We've only had a glimpse of Killer Frost in Firestorm but she looked pretty neat at least

I'm just pissed they got rid of Captain Cold's Cold Gun.

scott snyder says joe chill is retconned

I remember he was saying he hoped for that in interviews but it's confirmed

...I just found this. No wonder there was a debate about it.

All I gotta say is...sigh. Its unnecessary. If some writers wanna use the chill thing, they should be able to. The reverse should be true as well. They could try and just make it ambiguous.

Honestly, everytime Snyder opens his mouth about character, I shake my head, to be honest.

What else has he said that you didn't like?

Probably something frivolously stupid to be pissed about. :o

Whoever didn't like issue #6 is not a Batman fan. You don't get it at all.

The way he sees Bruce just dosent jibe with me in some ways, like hes always trying to focus on the negatives of Bruce Wayne. Also, when he was talking about potentially writing things in a way that could lead up to DKR. Of course, most of it is just talk, but his views on the character just represent the same tired **** we got before Morrison took over.

Of course, if I were actually pissed about it, this would make sense.

Nah, in fact, it would still be a ****ing stupid thing to say.

His stories haven't seemed at all like pre-Morrison Batman, though.

I just think it is too soon to do a story about a secret society that goes back hundreds of years and is connected to the Waynes, when the exact same story had finished recently with Morrison. I really enjoyed Black Mirror though.

I can definitely see your point.

It does almost seem at times like Synder is doing a reinvisioned version of Morrison's work.

Why are you so angry Mr. The Batman?

This is true. Which is why I still continue to buy this book. Luckily, what snyder says has yet to actual appear in the book.

Surprised to hear Snyder has said that as he doesn't write Bruce that way

His stories feel like a spiritual successor to Dini's to me. Straightforward, engaging stories of Batman just doing his Batman thing. I like that he likes to focus on the Bat-family and the lore of Gotham now and then, too. Gates of Gotham was fun.

For some reason, I was just never a fan of Dini's run. I've even reread it a few times, and I still can't get into it.

Synder's plotting definitely is closer to Morrison's in terms of how overarching it is, and like Morrison he seems to put a lot of effort into redefining Batman as a character, which I don't think Dini really focused on as much.

Synder's characterization of Batman is probably closer to Dini's though. Which is fine, as Dini wrote pretty much the quintessential Batman in BTAS.

That was pretty much one of the best versions of the character

Oh snap, I'm gonna pre-order the **** out of this.

This is the correct thing to do

This comic book has given us so much. It's given us Maniaco the Mexican maniac. It's given us Alfred making sex hands and offering to murder a guy. And Batman riding a T Rex which he then ate while chilling in the underground world of the masochistic troll people

I loves it :atp:

Dustin Nguyen's awesome Batman #7 variant cover:

“While reading Scott Snyder’s script, there was an act that really stuck with me,” Nguyen exclusively told THE SOURCE. “It was a scene where Batman was mixed with pain, fear, and shock. I thought that was a powerful moment in the issue and decided to base the cover off of that moment.”

I couldn't pass up the most insane Batman story of all time.

Jake the Dog approves of Batman: Odyssey

I couldn't pass up the most insane Batman story of all time.

It will forever be remembered as one of the most insane comics that DC have ever published

I like to read Batman's dialogue in the voice of the Ultimate Warrior. It really adds to the experience :awesome:

Any news on Kurt Busiek's and John Paul Leon's Batman: Creature of the Night?
