Luckily I don't think its crossing over with detective comics

Notice how Talon's cells had to be kept above a certain temperature? Me thinks that's the Freeze connection.

Yep I definitely think that thats how Freeze is going to get involved in the story

No **** Freeze is involved. That was revealed months ago when they showed his redesign.

They didn't reveal the nature of his involvement, only that he was making an appearance in the annual.

That re design is an abomination :csad:

I really hope its only for a flashback or something and he has his normal costume in the modern dcu

Okay, so I had a random thought that probably doesn't have anything to do with the current conversation (haven't been following it) and one that I haven't thought all the way through to validate or affirm the repercussions of entertaining such a thought, however...

Does Barbara Gordon once again acquiring her ability to walk necessitate the need for being Batgirl? Could she have remained Oracle even with her legs back and still been a well written character (not trying to imply she's not now, haven't been following it closely).
Would that have been received well? It would certainly allow for Cassandra and Stephanie to exist without complication (presumably) and keep Barbara in the role she's grown into and gained respect for.

Thoughts? Opinions? Should I just crawl back into my hole?

Seems to me that so long as her services as a techno-wizard aren't lessened by her ability to go on patrol and whatever, she might as well be Batgirl. When it comes down to it, both Cass and Steph are still active so it doesn't really matter what costume there are wearing. Towards the end of Batman Inc., Oracle was becoming more Batgirl-ish anyway.

Batman #7 was pretty damn good. Though I do have a few questions/complaints.

Who was that girl who jump started Batman with the jumper cables? I don't recall seeing her in previous issues. That felt a little awkward only because I didn't know who she was.

I find it a little odd that Batman is stabbed through the stomach after being poisoned and beaten down and then almost drowned to be at about 75% healthy in this issue. Unless that girl sewed him up and he was unconscious for several weeks, which I don't think was said at all.

The stuff with the Talon being Dick's great grandfather, while interesting, felt random. Especially the bit about Haley's Circus offering up the Court of Owls promising children. I suppose that was more relevant in the Nightwing title, which I'm not reading anymore, but here it felt forced and kind of pointless considering it's introduced and dismissed within 2 pages. It kind of incriminates Dick's parents doesn't it? And all of Haley's Circus? Unless I need to read Nightwing to understand the fine details, in which case I'll pass. Maybe it'll factor in later in the story as I recall Snyder saying he had plans for Dick and his relationship with Bruce later in his run.

Other than that, I thought it was a pretty good book. I loved the opening pages and anything dealing directly with The Court. The writing was top-notch there. But that retcon about Haley's Circus and Dick's family were "meh"

I'm glad someone else said it! That is a glaring inconsistency. How is he NOT having an IV running in his arm or a blood transfusion?? How the heck is he standing on his feet examining a corpse???

If his will is that strong, there's NO WAY a few days without food and water should have did him in....no way. He's standing around after being gutted!!! LOL!! He should have low blood pressure or dead! :woot:

But still a great issue! Loving this Owl story!

But man....too many enemies know Bruces I.D. .......that makes no sense!

Check the book again, when he tells Alfred he wants to examine Talon he's wearing his torn costume, but when Dick arrives he's in a new suite. Some time has passed would be my guess, time enough for medical attention.

I noticed the new costume, but the transition wasn't apparent. It read more like "several hours later" rather than "several weeks later". I think that little interim of healing would be important to the narrative to be honest. What's going on in that period of healing? How is Bruce's mental state? How's his physical health? Is there preparation going on within the Bat-family? Because, let's face it, if there was 3 weeks between those pages, The Owls totally would have launched their full scale attack in that down time and they aren't so stupid as to allow Bruce that time to recover fully. And there's some stuff that occurred off-panel, like Alfred and co. looking for Bruce in the river where his tracking beacon went off and that girl(who the hell is she?) who jump-started Bruce's heart, that I wish we would have seen. It may have helped the narrative a bit more. I don't know. As it is, it really felt jarring in a bad way.

It's like everything that happened in issues 5 and 6 aren't really that much of an problem anymore which is disappointing considering how good they were.

The only thing I didn't like about the issue was the whole thing with the Court of Owls being tied to the Greyson's. It was just too trite and convenient.

The story overall is awesome though, and I had absolutely no problem with the transition back to proper health with Bruce.

Finally caught up with Batman & Robin. Damien is a badass mofo.

That stab wound went thru his intestines or his liver......either way, he should have died or still be recovering with tubes running thru him. He's not Spiderman or Wolverine. Everything you just said makes so much sense.

As you said ....this is only hours later...not weeks.

wait, before you said not eating or drinking for a week shouldn't phase him. BECAUSE HE'S THE GOD DAMN ****ING BATMAN. Now you think he should die from one little stab wound?

get your **** straight, man.

Oh pleeez....you just made my point! This whole thing makes my point valid. It's what I've said all along. If they honestly want us to believe that Bruce can take that kind of punishment and be just fine a few hours later, surely going without food and water is a walk in the park. He should never have been so broken in that maze.

I want to go canoeing on the ocean of your tears.

My theology teacher in middle school always said that if we don't know the answer to a question, 50% of the time the correct answer is Jesus, and to just go with that.

So I'm going to say Jesus.

your theology teacher sure is a wise man. or is he not?

I'm not sure.

I try applying that principle to other avenues in life, and it doesn't really ever seem to be accurate.
Like, for instance, when asked who I think will win the superbowl. Or who was the tribal leader in Congo during the 1300s.

You need to quit *****ing all the time. All you do is *****. ***** ***** *****.

the story is losing me with the whole reanimated dead thing. i just feel that sort of thing doesnt fit here.

that's because Jesus has gone undercover since the last time someone really saw him.
