I actually really enjoy Greg Land's art. Maybe I'm just partial to his psylocke :o.

B&R7 was pretty awesome Mysti. I really loved the art and Bruce coming close to breaking his rule. Of course I would have preferred if Bruce had been pushed further in order to get that close but I was entertained nonetheless. Really enjoyed Damian throughout the entire issue too and not just at the end.

Glad you dug it Spider

I'm looking forward to seeing all the Robin's reunited for the next arc

i first noticed greg lands art back when he worked on nightwing, which was awesome! i dont think he was tracing much back then, but his art was great. i lost track of him after he left for marvel. i was shocked to hear about all the tracing crap he was doing there. i havent looked at those nightwing books since i first read them....i wonder how they look in retrospect.

They still look non-traced to me.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that his DC work wasn't traced. And it wasn't half-bad then. He really can be a good artist if he weren't such a blatant tracer.

I never really cared. His stuff's okay. Ultimate FF being the highlight.

No it wasn't. Still had goat legs.

His Namor however was awesome.

Eh I blame that **** on Millar. Just like cannibal rapist Hulk:cmad:

Warren Ellis was responsible for the goat legs. Mark Millar was told by editorial to get rid of the goat legs so he wrote 1 dialogue explaining that Doom hid his goat legs by extra armor.

Guess I'm in the minority on this one but I really liked B&R up until this issue. Now I think I'm just gonna drop the book altogether. Though I may just give it one more issue to see this arc completely settled once and for all before the Night of the Owls editorial mandat...er I mean event..

There was way too much unintentional comedy in it for my taste. I mean "forgive me father for I have sinned"?!? really?!? Almost reminded me of something by Tony Daniel with how over the top the grimdarkness of it all was too.

Damian's actions we're just incredibly forced. Leviathan Strikes did it better, here again Tomasi shows ignoring continuity to make his opening arc more new reader friendly, but as i just said, it's at the cost of continuity and just doing the same progression the character already had.

As disappointing as I found this issue overall I really did understand Damian's actions in the first six issues from a psychological stand point. It's why I was enjoying the book so damn much. I never really saw it as regression as much as "This kid doesn't really know his father just his father's image as the greatest at everything" and since his dad is as emotionally stunted as he is there will be conflict in having him embrace, understand and connect with his dad like he did his big bro.

I totally got that and it's an interesting element to explore. But this particular issue had so many moments that felt rushed and hackneyed with surprisingly lame dialogue that it almost felt like part of a different arc altogether. The part where Bruce avoided killing Morgan cause he realized his son was standing there was good though but there wasn't enough cool moments like that in it.

I'm just glad Inc is starting again soon so I could still get my Bruce and Damian fix somewhere else. The plus to it is of course that Morrison's exploration and evolution of Damian will carry over so fans who have felt there has been any regression should certainly sleep better.

I say enjoy the Damian/Bruce interaction while it lasts. With Inc is being built up to be this huge emotional story I wouldn't be surprised if Morrison kills off the little demon. Not saying that it will happen, But it's a strong possibility.

The Millar/Land UFF run was awesome in general. :o

Batgirl was pretty good this week too. I dug seeing Black Canary show up in this weeks issue

I'mma ship her and Batgirl together so hard :atp:

I might have enjoyed the issue more if I wasn't so bewildered as far as what the hell happened between the current issue and last issue where we left off with Bruce Wayne possessed and about to beat the snot out of Babs. What am I missing here?? Did the wrong issue get published? Did it continue and conclude in another title?

Bruce Wayne snaps out of it and Babs asks him if he was faking it cause he was in front of the WE employee and he says something like "halfway" and that's the end of that. I don't really remember well cause I read that at a shop weeks ago and don't buy that book but it was last month's issue. So maybe you skipped a whole issue of the arc?

I do my reading digitally online, so the skipping would be done by Comixology if anything.

Ugh... I just checked the obvious and I did skip issue 6. It doesn't seem like it's been two months since issue 5. I like the convenience of Comixology since I had stopped reading comics for years until the recent reboot... but the layout of the site could be greatly improved, particularly the layout of the "My Comics" page.. where it's not easy to see what new issues you have to read. The App seems to be better.. I suppose I should just invest in a tablet already.

I hope you did issue six when you check that one out

Deactivate your credit card, and just use iTunes cards.

It's the only way I keep myself under control. :o

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what I'm going to have to do. I dropped 12 bucks yesterday on nightwing year one and some gates of gotham. Everything looks so purddy on a tablet.:o

If that did happen I feel like that would be a huge regression for Batman as a character and series. Damian really brings something new to the myhtos and is probably one of my favorite characters created in the past decade.

Damian needs to stay, i tought the howls storyline was going to last a few issues, not a whole event about it, Batman basically beat the Talon, and knows where the organisation is.
