I recieved a reply from Joe Quesada himself as of a few minutes ago. I'm suprised he sent a response to me actually, considering I'm not even on the pecking order. But his reply was a generic "if it happens, it happens" kind of reply. but he did mention he appreciated my support and my enthusiasm.

So I've done my good deed for the week. hopefully I'll get responses from the others as well. in the meantime I suggest the rest of you send in letters of your own.

^^ I got the same sort of response. He said "you never know what will happen down the road."

I am a pretty firm believer that Ben's return to the main Marvel U is planned and has been for a while. I think the Clone Saga mini was given the green light in order to reintroduce Ben to new readers. I think I can back up this claim with some evidence as well.

1. The biggest piece of evidence to me is the cover to the free Spider-Man: The Grim Saga #1 cover. I know we saw a version of this cover a while back in black-and-white for, but the colored version is on Marvel.com now. All the other characters on the cover are alive. So why add Ben? A dead character? There are plenty of other dead Spider-characters they could have thrown on that cover, but they didn't. They have a bunch of alive current Spider-continuity characters on there and Ben Reilly. Even Kaine is in his current "costume" not the one he wore in the 1990s.

2. In recent interviews involving the "The Grim Hunt" (the big finale to the Gauntlet) Joe Kelly claimed that the Grim Hunt is all about family and that more than just Kraven the Hunter would be returning. It is my belief that this includes Vladimir Kravinov as well. Who was murdered by? Thats right, Kaine.

3. So its clear why Kaine was brought back in the recent "Who Was Ben Reilly?" Saga. Kaine is a part of Spider-Man's "family". His direct connection to the murder of Vladimir Kravinov makes his addition totally rational, and he will most likely receive some sort of revenge for his crimes against the Kraven family.

4. To conclude, we have had two big Ben Reilly stories recently, and the return of Ben Reilly's greatest nemesis, Kaine. Coinciding with this is also the warning that dead characters will be returning, and the collection of Spider-Man's "family". Who is more family to Spider-Man than Ben Reilly? I personally can't wait for Ben's return this June and July, time will only tell if I am correct in my predictions.

I'm counting 4, actually! :)

1. X-Men / Spider-Man #3 (March 2009)
2. Spider-Man: The Clone Saga #1-6 (November 2009 - April 2010)
3. Amazing Spider-Man #608-610 (December 2009 - January 2010)
4. Web of Spider-Man vol. 2 #5 (April 2010)

And I totally agree. It's like when you suddenly start hearing old songs from a musical artist playing on the radio again all the time even though they've been off the grid for a while: They're usually priming you for their new work that's about to come out. :)

Yeah, the latest Reilly story in Web rocked. Can't wait.

Hopefully you're spot on and 2010 will mark the year of Ben Reilly's permanent return. They've done that in the past. 2007 marked the return of the black tarantula, 2008 marked the return of Spider-Man 2099, and 2009 marked the return of Eddie Brock.

Just read the last part of the Clone Saga, and I have to say that it was fun a read :) It amkes me wonder what parts are new to the story and what parts have been added on in hindsight from the original story.

Overall, I liked this ending much more :D

If Ben Reilly does get his own title, I hope it happens soon. I'm currently reading all of the issues from the original clone saga, and I'm already at the maximum clonage arc. If I continue reading at my current pace, I'll be finished by the 20th or so. So bottom line, if they don't produce more new stories soon, there will be nothing to fuel my interest in the character.

Um, Eddie Brock was NEVER gone. He appeared in stories both in 2007 (in 'Sensational Spider-Man') and 2008 (in "New Ways to Die").

On an unrelated note, I finally got around to reading the Ben Reilly mini-story in 'Web of Spider-Man.' It wasn't bad. It was about as much as DeMatteis could do, considering he only had 7 pages to tell the story. Nothing too memorable, but a Ben Reilly story is still a Ben Reilly story and I was glad to see it. I did raise my eyebrow about the whole "Henry Jones" and goatee thing.

Even though I do think Ben Reilly will be returning, I don't necessarily think he will be getting his own series. I know Howard Mackie and those guys have pitched the Ben Reilly series to Marvel, but I think that the sales of whatever comic book Reilly returns in will dictate whether of not Marvel will allow him to have his own series. Also, I would like to point out that the only way to really tastefully bring Ben back is to establish right off the bat that Ben is the clone. If the writers are not clear that he is the clone, then everyone will lose sight of the important things (Peter and Ben's brother-like relationship) and they will only focus of "who is the original and who is the clone" and that is honestly why people hate the clone saga and what went so wrong with it. The new clone saga mini barely touched on who was the real one and who wasn't and I thought this was element of the mini far surpassed the original Clone saga. I think Peter has always been more concerned about what lies and than what lies behind and Ben and Peter not being at odds because of the original debate fit both of their character perfectly.

I don't want Ben back in the BND world. First, the Spidey books are intolerable. I have yet to glance at a single issue I actually enjoy. Second, Ben's purpose is now redundant. Without a married Peter to contrast, you've got a couple swingin' single Spideys running around.

And I'm not gonna be all "YAY! BEN'S BACK!" if the material he's in sucks. I love the character (hell, I MADE this thread) but I will not support inferior quality stories just because he's there.

def not Stuart's art and the sizing and font are off...

Well, it's not supposed to be real, it's just some fan art I made when I got inspired by all those teaser images.
Just wanted to share it.

No heat (least not from my end) just answering the query...

Since I love the current Spider-Man stories, I would love to have Ben back in the Old New Day (its not so new anymore and its here to stay) world. I think that he still has certain qualities that separate him from Pete and would make him a interesting character. I think he would also serve a great purpose on some other Avengers team, similar to the way the Scarlet Spider did in the Initiative. And I also think Ben has a lot to offer as a supporting character to Pete. What character in the Marvel U has a brother? Not Spidey, Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Dr. Strange, these are many of the Marvel U's main characters, but none of them have brothers! With the average household in America having over 2 children most people have brothers! I have 3, and I don't see why Marvel hasn't touched this wide demographic yet.

I'm thinking I may be more interested in a Ben series than I am with ASM. If they get Peter and MJ back together and also have a series for Ben, they can have a married and a single Spider-Man. I'd happily buy both.

You don't know how excited I got when I first saw this image. Than I found out it was fan art. :cmad: :cwink: Nah its all good. Nice work dude.

Personally I'd like to see Ben come back as a Spider-Girl type deal picking up right where the clone saga mini left off and showing what Ben did after leaving. Theres definitely some stories to tell there.

Hey Ultra Magnus would you be able to post a PNG of that Scarlet Spider layer you used to make the teaser? I wanted to add that pic to the Reilly Tribute.

Ok, i recently started reading Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead"
and while reading the letters page in an old issue I found this:
