Gambit isn't a pretty boy. He's a dark sinister character who uses his charm, not his good looks to get what he wants.

I'm tired of teeny boppers getiing cast as anti-heroes, it's bulls--t!

Gambit is chain-smoker and an experienced card shark type. He's not some 18 year old underwear model.

Johnny Depp is a great actor but ultimately he's too pretty to play Gambit just like many of these lame suggestions.

Yeah, if they went by his 1st appearance in Uncanny Xmen #266 (before he started to get drawn as a pretty boy) Vincent Cassell would be an inspired choice.

My point is most of the actors being touted for the role on this thread conform to how Gamibit is drawn currently (i.e, a lot 'better looking' than in #266)which is fine.

I was merely saying that if they went with his original depiction, Blind_Fury's casting choice of Cassell would be a great choice imo.

James Marsden and Patrick Stewart prettymuch look the way Kirby drew them imo. Cudmore looks pretty much like how dave Cockrum drew Peter.

Some of them dont - Berry and Jackman come to mind.

I thought the same of Stewart and Marsden. I didn't see Cudmore as Colossus, but I could deal with him.

Anyway though, out of a cast of at least over 30 throughout all the X-Men movies, only 2-3 actors looked like the comic counterpart? I'm sorry but that's sad.

p.s. I love everyone from the movies, excluding Berry, because I could believe them as the character from the comic. The only problem with Hugh was his height which for me wasn't a big problem.

Yeah, same here - what hit it about the Marsden/Kirby thing for me was, not when we saw him in uniform as Cyke, but in the 'stay away from my girl' scene and Stewart just had play Xavier! Fanboys wouldnt have stopped hounding him till he did!

But yeah, the rest were cast mainly because of their acting talent (if they resembed the character they were portraying ? it was a plus).
Hugh is too tall for Wolvie (going by the official height of both) but it's funny how much slack a person will give an actor if their perfomance is good (which Hugh's was) as opposed to bad, so I just kinda left that gripe at the door.

Thats why I was agreeing with Blind_Fury's suggestion of Cassell for Remy should they want to play up the dark (almost creepy) and mysterious figure he cut in his 1st apearance. Cassel would just exude those qualitiles imo not to mention being a damn fine actor.

If they want to go the way of Gambit as he's been drawn since Jim Lee? Well,...........There's always Keanu.

(By the way, I don't want to risk any misunderstanding with that last line - that was most definatley a joke!! )

Well I reconsidered my previous 4 choices shown before.

I still like Jared Leto and Ian Somerhalder, but the actor's that I didn't include with the other 4 were actors that I liked but I didn't know if anyone else would because everyone on here is always critcal, myself included.
