Carey has reportedly told other writers that he intends to address the Death thing and to leave it be... But of course hes too busy fawning over Rogue to actually do any legit writing.

At least he's interested in the character. Too many writers/editors currently dislike Gambit for some reason, so i don't see him getting any significant role anytime now,

But, for the first time in ages, we ARE seeing Gambit catch interest! That's why Carey told people to back off.

And not being featured at all is still better than being featured by an awful writer who only uses the character to make Rogue seem more amazing.

I don't think he's an awful writer, but his fanboyisim towards Rogue is just a bit much, looking at the synopsis for issues 3 and four of Age of X it's a total Rogue fest.

I just think that even if he appears crapply in Legacy, it will hopefully give him more exposure so other writers can have their take on the character.

Oh, what Carey cranks out WITHOUT Rogue is usually pretty good stuff. But when she's around he jumps right off the wagon and becomes an awful, awful writer.

Sadly, Marvel's apparently now letting him take Rogue with him wherever he goes - and that's bad news for readers.

And to each their own about how much he does it, I suppose... IMO the man's totally over the top for Rogue, not 'just a bit much.'

On a brighter note....

Merry Christmas Gambit fans! (or Joyeaux Noel as them Cajuns say!)

May 2011 be a good year for Remy!

I am hoping so. :D Our boy needs some love.

They might as well rename the series X-23 and Gambit...lol. Its weird seeing him get a semi-lead role in an ongoing, at least for this long. Its been a while

Shhh. This is all part of the plan. They're hiding him from whoever in the Marvel office hates on him.:woot:

that is pretty awesome, and x-23 makes a hot pirate wench

Here's a question -- has Remy ever charged anything without using his hands? Just wondering...

I beleive in his earliest appearances he was able to with his eyes, but that seems to have been lost as his powers were more defined. He can charge with other parts of his body and has with his tongue before. I think he exhibits the greatest control through his hands which is why he primarily uses that

Thanks. :) I figured he must be able to, I just couldn't recall if I had ever seen him do it. *tries to get the image of Remy charging a toilet seat with his ass out of her head* :p

I think that at full, uninhibited power levels he's supposed to be able to charge stuff without physically touching it.

But it's true he rarely charges stuff with something other than his hands - mainly cause he wears that full body armor that covers most of his skin.

I think i recall reading that originally the powers were only supposed to come out of his eyes, but they changed it after a few issues.

though that could've just been from a Gambit-is-the-third-Summers fanboy

I think he charged things with his eyes in his first appearance.

I finally caught up on some of my reading. I'm really liking Gambit in X23 and hope he stays. He's gotten his best use there than he has in a while and is more like his old self. :D

I think there's a real chance he gets an extended stay in the title. I mean, can you imagine how boring an X-23 solo would be without someone for her to play off of?

I thought the last issue was awesome, as Iamlegend said the book would be freakin terrible without Gambit.

Liu should've done a Gambit ongoing instead, she protrays him so well,

See, while I've naturally always enjoyed the Gambit ongoings (he is my favorite character, after all), I've always preferred him on teams or in the buddy-comic type set up that he'd occasionally get in minis.

I really just don't like any character in a solo series, even when they do have a rotating supporting cast. Just too hard for most writers to convey a good story when most of it is one character talking to themselves/using thought boxes.

Agreed! So i guess i have to go out and get those X-23 issues. By the way, pirate Gambit is an awesome idea. He would be like Jack Sparrow without the skitzophrenia.

Jack isn't skitzophrenic, he just suffers from a deplorable excess of personality. :p
