I liked the GCS comic books too. A fun romp that didn't take itself too seriously. That's what I want the movie to be.

Awww. I liked the original comics. They were more in the vain of Gotham Girls (at least with Dini writing). Not to be taken too seriously. Just some fun with fan favorites. A movie it ain't tho.

Gotham Girls was a lot of fun and definitely something not to be taken seriously. But I cant say the same about GCS. The arcs with Azrael,Talia,Selina's sister and Joker are not exactly a run romp. Each of them was begging to be taken seriously. The current Harley or Super Sons now those you dont take seriously.

True but I did say that when Dini was writing it wasn't to be taken too seriously.

Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley are all characters that have pathos, but at the same time are light hearted. It's about balance.

People were complaining about how young Eiza Gonzalez is...she's 27. That's not even early twenties. By the time the film shoots, she'd be close to 30, and could easily be in her early thirties as the character, or have been operating for a while. It's not like she's a teenager or a college girl. There's nothing saying that Selina and Bruce have to be the same age for the concept of Batman/Catwoman to work, assuming we even see it. And if Bruce is older...Jon Hamm was 45 in Baby Driver and he and Gonzalez had excellent chemistry together.

It does seem like most people are casting who should be Selina Kyle based on whether she would be compatible with Ben Affleck even though he might not even be Batman and Catwoman might not ever even be in The Batman.
Instead of whether she should be compatible with Margot Robbie.

It's getting ravaged by critics, with a few of them even calling the movie 'Worst of the 2017'. Turns out that most of the SHH folks actually liked/loved the movie or at least thought it was fine. But WB/Robbie might have 2nd thoughts about continuing with Ayer.

Critics have already lined up to pillory Bright as among the year's worst releases. Don't believe the clickbait.

I can finally reply nao that I have watched it myself and I loved the movie. Not a guilty pleasure type love but 'Bright' was really, actually a very good movie. Plus I think he even showed here that he can use gangsta music in a very effective way. Ayer can still come up with the goods. I can only hope that WB will stop being so damn reactive and just let the filmmakers do their thing in peace.

Because if she’s smart she wouldn’t want stench attached to her most popular and visible role of her career. She “escaped” SS, but just barely. And if I’m being honest, it’s a lot to do with the novelty of her film debut. She won’t have that going into the next film. If it’s a turd, audience goodwill is spent on that character. Not a good look for a role which could conceivably last her a decade.

Margot has said millions of times that she wants to play Harley forever (Even after SS) and even pitched Harley centric films to the studio. Doesn't seem like someone who wants to quit on a role.

Harley Quinn was one of the best, if not the best, developed characters in the movie. Slipknot fans should be the ones complaining. If someone cast see past Harley Quinn's booty shorts that wasn't Ayer's problem.
And Margot Robbie won the Critics Choice award for Best Actress in an Action Movie. So other people saw past the booty shorts. Ayer wasn't even the costume designer so I'm not sure how much say he had in the
costumes anyway.

Saying Harley Quinn is the best developed character in Suicide Squad is a bunch of nothing. Compared to who exactly? That travesty of a Joker? Deadshot that doesn't kill women or children? Puh-lease.

The only reason people like Margot's portrayal is because it had hype. From the very beginning people were excited to see Harley on screen. She's a fan favorite character. It doesn't matter who played her, how she was dressed, etc. The result would've been the same.

Katana barely did anything in SS. There's a difference between being sexy and being overly sexualized. Michelle Phieffer in Batman Returns was depicted as very sexy, maybe a little overly so, but not completely overtly.

In Arkham City Harley is the same, depicted as sexy, overly so, but not completely overtly. They wouldn't have had to do her comic costume, which is sexy, skin tight, form fitting, but that doesn't mean they had to do what they did.
