Official: Gotham City Sirens directed by David Ayer - Part 1

Who do you think will they cast as Catwoman and Poison Ivy? In the Internet we can read that the Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez will be playing Selina Kyle.

I still don't think this movie is getting made, but I'd want Riley Keough for Ivy or Charlize Theron for Selina.

Rumor is that Ayer has been fired from the project and Birds Of Prey is taking it's place which Harley will still star in.

Ayer is working on Bright 2 for Netflix
So I imagine they can't do GCS as soon as possible right now
Birds of Prey isn't even a franchise Harley can be the star of, Its more or less a team for Batgirl, Black Canary, and Huntress

I can see them sticking Harley in that team but it will be a hard sell to me

Or if they take a page from the ill fated Birds of Prey tv show and make Harley Quinn the villain. It’s nice that we see her saving the world in SS and whatever good deed she does in the sequel but let’s not forget she is a villain first! So if she is in the film they can make a connection to her and Batgirl, maybe Harley came close to killing Gordon and Barbera has a vendetta against her.

I think people are being a little too literal. Birds of Prey is whatever WB wants it to be. We had a bunch of people insisting there was no way WB would try to make a Justice League movie without Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter or that you couldn't possibly make an Avengers movie with no Ant-Man or Wasp, and yet they still happened.

Of course they can do whatever they want but it is nowhere close to JL/Avengers examples. They've gone through various members through the years and everyone in the movies have been in the group's.

Harley has never been part of Birds of Prey. Catwoman has guest starred but never part of the team either. Oracle/Black Canary/Huntress are the team. To call a film BoP without them is stupid but stupid is DCs motto.

Harley has never been part of Birds of Prey.

And your average person has never read a Birds of Prey comic in their lives. If the film is entertaining, nobody is gonna care.

And Harley doesn't have to be an official member or whatever. A villain teaming up with the heroes to defeat a bigger, badder villain is a pretty tried and true superhero trope.

That was never question. But if the film is called BoP, the likelihood of her not being the lead in the group is high along with using Ivy/Selena. They will probably only use it because it has way more notoriety and value then Gotham City Sirens.

If this film is even on the talking table cause of Margot, I don't care for any comicbook accuracy. Let her lead the goddamn squad, just make the damn thing. lol

Harley has no business leading anything. She's first and foremost a sidekick.

There's only one rightful leader of the Birds of Prey and it's not Harley Quinn, dammit.

Given she's currently a more popular character than any of the other BOP save for perhaps Batgirl, that's not really true.

Like I said, people are letting their knowledge of the comics lead to assumptions. This project exists because Margot pushed for it. It's extremely likely Harley will be the lead here.

If we're talking comic accuracy we'd be getting Barbara Gordon as Oracle, and that's not happening.

Putting aside Birds of Prey's history and treating this as an original concept, Harley Quinn being the leader of a superhero/vigilante group would just be a bad idea. It doesn't play to her strengths, and it makes the other members look bad. Now her being the Wolverine of the group, that's not my preference, but okay, at least it makes some sort of sense.

Where is the idea that Harley Quinn is going to lead the Birds of Prey coming from?

People seem to be confusing the term "lead" with "leader". Harley Quinn will likely be the lead, but that doesn't mean she's leading a team of superheroes.

I'm so confused. are we getting a sirens movie? or a BOP movie? both? and a batgirl movie too? maybe they're all the same project?

I think I need to sit down, I'm getting dizzy

BOP vs GCS: Dawn of the Acronyms, aka BOP vs GCS: DOTA.

Is it any wonder no-one gives a **** anymore about the DCEU when WB seem to be jumping back and forward all the time? How are you suppose to build a base of support if the base has no idea what you're doing? Or have they simply given up trying to build any type of good will any longer?
