I get that these are just superhero movie roles, but MC Dusk is as unconvincing as a badass as they come.

As much as I'm for this project, I can't help but think that (with the exception of Harley), fans just aren't going to care or relate all that much with the other characters because we know noting about them.

So...like most movies...they will have to actually introduce the characters. I don't see why this is an issue.

I thought Abbie Cornish was great in Sucker Punch. She's my fancast for Black Canary, too.

I'd be cool with Saoirse, too, and I want Evan Rachel Wood as Ivy. If Catwoman ends up black, though, I vote Gugu Mbatha-Raw (well, Kat Graham would look awesome, but I don't know the first thing about her acting ability).

People have been casting for a sophisticated elder sister type. Graham would be casting against type.

I actually think Evan Rachel Wood would make for a better Batgirl because she's older. If this is a world where Batman has existed for years 20 years it doesn't make a lot of sense for Barbara to be in her early 20's at this stage.

Catwoman-Ruth Negga.
Batgirl-Jane Levy.
Black Canary-Rebecca Ferguson.
Poison Ivy-Evan Rachel Wood.
Huntress-Alicia Vikander.
Black Mask-Michael C. Hall.

So "girl gang" movie. Doesn't give much to go on for who will be included. Black Canary/Huntress/Catwoman/Ivy/Katana could all be possibilities.

I can stretch the Sirens being rated-R, Huntress yes, Black Canary eh.....but that leaves Batgirl. Batgirl is the only constant in the 2 scripts penned by Christina Hodson. The studio wants to push Babs and then have her spin-off come after.

This project, whatever it is (BOP, GCS, BOP vs GCS?), I doubt will be rated-R.

I have a hard time imagining it's really going to be R if it includes Batgirl and is being used to springboard a Batgirl spin-off.

Two scripts by the same person? that's weird.

Both scripts definitely feature Batgirl and Harley, and then they can play around with who the other characters will be. I think this gives them room in case they decide on characters/actresses last minute or so they can sync with "Gotham City Sirens" (or not clash with it.)

I don't think BOP or GCS will be rated R either. The characters are too popular with younger audiences, and the teenage audience can be huge for these properties.

They may put a separate 'R' rated version on Bluray afterwards.

The fact that she's even entertaining this idea... I'm not sure it's a good thing.

Maybe they will see how far they can push it. That may not be a bad thing. Unless it's just the violence, maybe she wants more mature themes.

I'd be fine with it as long as it's good. And there's quite a few possible character, Harley included, that COULD fit in a more R-rated story.

It's not that I don't believe it could work (even Batgirl has starred in her fair share of dark stories), I'm just iffy on the idea of the first all-female superhero movie being R-rated.

The studio may feel the same way and probably won't allow it. They may put a stop to it. I just hope they can come to an agreement before shooting so it won't be a jumble of miscommunicated ideas or a clash of the type of movie they want to make. We've had enough of that with DC in the past.

I don't understand the "harley quinn girl gang" movie and GCS being treated as separate entities. Gotham City Sirens IS Harley's girl gang. Even in recent comics whenever she's with non-zlisters, she's with Catwoman and Ivy. A movie with 3 a-list female characters working together naturally makes a lot more sense to me than anything else they've thrown around. Bleh.

David Ayer out of the picture? Even better.

Speaking of Ivy, if she's not included in whatever Harley vehicle is actually made I will RIOT. She deserves justice from that awful B&R movie. Bleh

I have a hard time believing that she wouldn't be. There's probably a good chance that Catwoman would appear as well.

Maybe this will turn into a BOP vs GCS???

It's so annoying that every time DC develops an interesting female villain they turn them into a misunderstood hero. Why can't they stay evil? Female characters, especially popular ones like the GCS, don't need to be morally right in every situation. That's how we get Mary Sues.
