Random question: You know how some villains have a "The" in front of their names, like The Joker, The Scorpion, The Riddler, and of course, The Green Goblin.

Do you guys prefer to call him The Green Goblin, or just plain 'ol Green Goblin, or maybe even Gobby? For example, Doctor Octopus has several names like Doc Ock, and Ock. I usually just call him Ock.

Hm, I've always seen his "formal" name as The Green Goblin. Usually I just call him "The Goblin" or "Gobby." Simply saying "Green Goblin" irks me for reasons I dont know. It just doesnt sound right. In reference to the other Goblins, well it depends. I use Hobgoblin, the Hobgoblin and Hobby. Demogoblin I call Demogoblin.

On a side note, I dont understand why some people type HobGoblin or DemoGoblin. Why the blazes would you capitalize the G?

EDIT: On yet another side note, I want a good Hobgoblin story, dammit! I miss the bastard. He's was always the coldly logical counterpart to Gobby's loose cannon. Roderick is the sociopath, Norman is the one that is insane. I want my cake and to eat it, too.

Probably because it's one word too long. Three words there, when most aliases just have two words or one word.

Norman seems to call himself "The Green Goblin", too. In the Spectacular Spider-Man, he introduces himself as The Green Goblin. It has a certain formality and formality, imo, has a certain ceremonial, regal aspect. Its like referring to a person by their full name. Like at the inauguration today. Obama was introduced as Barack H. Obama.

I think I call him "The Green Goblin" most of the time or sometimes even "The Goblin" , but sometimes I do call him just "Green Goblin".

I say it the way it sounds cooler or more professional, to get my point across.

The same goes for a lot of the heroes as well; the Batman, the Wolverine (When he was first introduced), even the Spider-Man (according to the theme song). It's just not always said. To me it doesn't matter either way.

Well, that makes sense anyway. Man of Steel changed to Steel Man. I can also see where some French translator looked at the Green Goblin and thought he looked like a buffoon. Still, changing the name like that is really uncool.
