Well crud. I guess this takes place in the "official" continuity after all. I keep thinking "If it aint broke, dont fix it."

On the plus side, they hint in the preview that the ID of this Hobgoblin will be a mystery. It may be Kingsley behind the mask and it may be Macendale. On one hand, we dont need another resurrected villain, but on the other, I dont want Kingsley to be this clown. I like that character too much. I actually kind of want Macendale to be the Jack O'Lantern again, just for giggles (if he must return).

If we're lucky and this is not ol' Roderick. This new Hobgoblin running around will drag Kingsley into the mix with his massive ego and all (Although I think Macendale was a risk to revealing his identity). Kingsley may come back to eliminate this Hobgoblin...

I'm kinda hopin' it's some Demogoblin-ish thing. Why? I don't know. But I like Mistahs idea of Kinglsey takin' up the Hobgoblin mantle again cause of his ego, that' make for an entertaining issue.

Hm, another Goblin War, eh? I can dig it.

At any given point in time, somebody has to be tossing pumpkins at Spidey. If not Norman, Harry or Macendale, someone somewhere has to take up the slack.

Exactly. Norman is in jail. Harry wants nothing to do with being a Goblin. Gabriel seems to be American Son from now on. Macendale is dead. That just leaves Roddy.

....

Unless Marvel resurrects Bart Hamilton. :oldrazz:

We need GREEN Goblin pics. Norm looks like he's having fun here.

I liked those pumpkin bombs; looked like a cross between the traditional jack o'lantern bombs of the comics and the "tech-ish" bombs of the movies.

On a note I made a while back, an aspect of Goblin that that was in SSM that I really liked is the fact that he was randomly thrown into the mix. Spidey expects him to be working for Tombstone, but when it's out that he isn't, things start to get complicated.

Exactly. Goblin threw some chaos into Spidey's crime fighting. (Not that fighting other super freaks isnt chaotic. :oldrazz: ) Sandman, Rhino, Vulture and others worked for the Big Man or had some other "logical" motive. Gobby just come screaming out of the sky wanting to kill him, as far as Spider-Man is concerned.

Maybe it's jsut me, but I think the fact that Norman just randomly showed up in a Goblin costume in SSM cleary means the green did have another effect on him.

Norman strikes me as the type who would say that it was his plan all along to fly around in a Goblin get-up, but in the end he knows that he was just a tad bit insane during the structure of his plot.

Most insane people don't know they're insane. I liked how Gobby kept you guessing. First he let us think it was Harry, then random flunkies, then finally we learn it was really Norman all along.

I found this picture of Spectacular Spider-Man's Green Goblin drawn in a comic style.

One thing I liked is how they established Gobby as Spider-Man's arch nemisis BEFORE he killed Gwen. It started small as Gobby was the first villain to get away. Then things just started to escalate as the Green Goblin took over the world of organized crime and focused all of his attention to Spider-Man (makes sense, since even though Norman framed his son, it wasn't a clean getaway since Gobby's existance still connected to the Osborn family). Heck, I don't think Norman knew for sure that Peter was Spider-Man yet... Most often than not, most other media adaptions of Spider-Man throw the Green Goblin right into those 2 major events (Spidey's ID, and Gwen's death [Replace Gwen with MJ and have her survive]) from the get go. Oh yeah...and Norman was definetely crazy, they just didn't hold your hand through it.

well they did tease the harry aspect with the pills he's taking, the same as norman, so we may see our goblin vs goblin arc yet

Personally, I was well enough pleased with the Goblin vs Goblin story in issue 312 of ASM, but I could do with a new one with a new edge.

I'm sorry i know this is a Goblin thread. But what's up with the neon suit???

I dont know. They havent told us yet, as far as I know.

There was also a Goblin War issue in Spectacular Spider-Man vol 1. It was the Goblins at the Gate arc and featured Norman vs Roderick. Another one was Green Goblin #4: Phil Urich vs Jason Macendale.

Kinda concern about that right now i mean the hobgoblin look sick!!! But not so attracted to the neon suit but anyhoo. I love GG. He like the joker of spiderman except more psychotic. And you know, green.:woot:

That's an interesting way to look at it. Osborn is both Lex Luthor and Joker, albeit at different times. Unethical, cutthroat businessman by day, psychotic murderer with bizarre gimmicks by night.

It's easy to pick up a lot of Spectacular books I find, usually no more than a dollar per book. I like all the subplots they seem to cover. I've certainly developed a taste for Tombstone since I started really collecting them.

But yeah, I still haven't gotten my hands on issue 200 unfortunately, I should get down on that.

Exactly my point. He also a brilliant mastermind. It's like he can't be touch. And now since he higher up in power in the 616 universe. I wonder what happens? All i know is that lately he's really gotten under parker's skin.
