Official Green Lantern Casting and Discussion Thread part 2

wasnt she a test pilot too prior to becoming the head of the company? also nice to know who sanders is playing after he was spotted on the first day.

She's just inherited her father's position and not a test pilot prior. Change doesn't bother me thou. Makes sense for her to earn such a position and not just be daddy's girl. :hehe:

what? Carol's actually going to be a test pilot?

Yeah, In "Secret Origins" she did a little flying.

Yes, Carol was a pilot before begrudgingly having to give it up to run Ferris Air. She loved flying as much as Hal did.

thanks for the info on carol. i dont know much on gl back history so yea i dont really see it being a bad change at all. makes it a bit more believeable she could run the company if she has played a part in its operations and all that for a number of years.

well in Secret Origins, she did struggle with the company because of her age and gender. that's what they need to do here.

^ And she did not wanted to become a businesswoman to begin with. She wanted to be a pilot.

ah well what ever they do i hope blake will play the role well.

Kevin Costner as Alan Scott

**** NO!!!!

Christ, I'm about to bring out my crucifix --

I'm okay with Costner as Alan Scott, but Redford (at any age) would be best.

well we will just have to see if alan even makes the cut in the film. i hope he is.

Redford is more Alan Scott to me than Costner.

Costner would be a good choice for Scott.

What if they fo a bit younger and maybe go with.....wait.... for..... it........

Nathan Fillion as Alan Scott??

Or at least maybe he can do the voice of Alan Scott.....why not?

Fillion is great as Richard Castle on ABC's show CASTLE by the way!

I don't want Fillion or Costner anywhere near this.

I don't want Alan anywhere near the movies. It'd be stupid to make him a member of the Corps and let's not spend time explaining how and why he's different from Hal. I think a second human Lantern should be brought into a sequel, but make it Guy, John, or Kyle.

fillion isnt likely an option as for costner who knows. If the character is still in the film we dont know how old the character is going to be as of time time.

i love Fillion but I don't know why anyone would suggest him to play a side character like Scott, when there was a group of people who wanted him to be Hal. I mean, it's like saying "We can't get Christian Bale as Batman, then he should at least play Alfred."

People just love Fillion for some reason. I will never understand it. For fanboys it's like they shared the same piece of spaghetti with him.

I watched the complete season of Firefly and I can see why. I mean, if Star Wars was ever remade (which i would be against) he would be a good Han Solo.

However, He's one of those guys who can't break from TV though. He's almost this big geekcentric underdog.

The only thing that I'm disappointed with as far as the characters/casting is that Boodika isn't in the film at all... she's always been one of my most favorite GL characters.

well, Salaak wasn't in the original draft, or even known to be in the movie until Geoff Johns twitted about him last month. There's always hope.

I didn't like the fact that in First Flight, she was a (SPOILER) a villain.
