No we're cheering because he's a great actor who will change your opinion that he can't do it :)

I hope so.

But lookswise, he doesn't resemble Hal in the slightest. Voice-wise he sounds high-pitched like the Flash.

And this fits with what Showtime told me, that WB wants an unconventional choice for Hal that doesnt fit with the comics.

Casey Affleck was another weird choice too.

Well I guess its better than Yechin and Jack Black, but still disappointing.

But it's likely he'll turn it down again. Gosling doesn't take roles that he can't see himself in.

Channing Tatum = terrible choice.

Bad enough he's playing *****e . . . er I mean Duke.

Yelchin. C'mon guys, this is Hal Jordan here. I'm not saying he's a bad actor but c'mon HAL FREAKING JORDAN. This is not inspired casting.

No one said it was, and no one supports Yelchin at all.

I just hope that when they do cast Hal it's someone good. A lot of these names we've been hearing lately (Bloom, Hirsch, Yelchin) are giving me pause.

I think Hirsch is going to be a little more selective now after Speed Racer.

I wonder when they will offer it to Shia LeBouf.

Here's a good pic of Gosling with dark hair for those concerned he can't look like Hal

Gosling would be a good choice, but if he already turned the role down once I don't know why he'd accept it now.

Although maybe the producers are hoping Campbell and/or script re-writes will do the trick...

Maybe they'll just offer him a bigger payday then they did before.

I think you hit the nail on the head.

either way, I'm just happy that now they're actively looking for somebody.

Remember that Christian Bale passed on Terminator: Salvation initially, and when they REALLY wanted him for John Connor, they gave him a say on the script and some creative control on how his character could be developed in order to sweeten the deal. Perhaps they'll try something similar to lure in Ryan Gosling?

I personally would be very happy with Gosling. I was overjoyed when I heard the original rumor that WB were pursuiing him, and was sorely disappointed when I heard he was out of the running. And most of the alternatives since suggested just haven't matched up to Gosling in my eyes. I hope he ends up doing it.

...I wish Sam Worthington wasn't doing 'Clash'...

From what I can gather 97% of the people who support Worthington have never seen him act in anything. Go figure.

Martin Campbell's name sold me on the movie, so maybe it will work for Gosling as well.

McG says Sam Worthington is a butch, masculine, manly man guy so we should like him.

He's also the star of Cameron's avatar, that must mean he rox the sox.

It kinda makes me think that the current draft isn't wow the actors that they're going for, you know?

I know that Casey is busing 'filming' the Joaquin Phoenix rap documentary, but what the Gosliing and even Emile Hersh?

Either those guys (like them or not) are too busy, don't want to do big movies at this point (Emile) or the script is so-so.

Honestly, if the script is close to what I've read, it's a decent script but it's "WOW, this is amazing".
