This would be a great cast:

Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan
Rose Byrne as Carol Ferris
Jason Isaacs as Sinestro
Paul Giamatti as Hector Hammond
Michael Clarke Duncan as Kilowog
Dennis Quaid as Martin Jordan
Ian Holm as Ganthet (or any principal Guardian)

A young Dennis Quaid would've been perfect if the GL movie was made in the 1980s, so Dennis Quaid doing a cameo as Hal's dad Martin would be a nice tribute.

My thoughts exactly. Dennis Quaid in The Right Stuff equals the perfect Hal Jordan.

Ill take Michelle Monaghan as Carol Ferris...Rose Byrne doesn't look like she could handle a plane

Okay what do you all think of this potential cast that I wouldn't mind seeing in the GL film to accompany Reynolds?

Hal Jordan- Ryan Reynolds
Carol Ferris- Rachel McAdams
Sinestro- Hugo Weaving
Hector Hammond- Peter Sarsgaard
Kilowog- Michael Clark Duncan
Tomar Re- Doug Jones
Ganthet- Ian Holm
Martin Jordan or Alan Scott- Dennis Quaid

This is something that pisses me off. I'm going to Comic-Con, and Warner Bros has a panel on Friday from 10 to 12:30. That's 2 and a half hours, in which time I'd be missing a whole lot of other good panels to attend. Most of the stuff announced for this panel looks pretty boring, I'd only be interested in news about Jonah Hex. HOWEVER, IF there is any news on Green Lantern, it'll be at this panel.

If I go to it, and spend 2 and a half hours there with no Green Lantern news, I'll kick myself.

If I don't go to it, and I miss the unveiling of the Green Lantern cast or something, I'll kick myself.

Yeah, thats the thing about the Con, so much to do and see in so little time and there is only so much one person can see and do there.

Try and talk to some DC or WB's folks over at the Con before hand to see if they have any info on whether or not they will have something about the GL film during that time slot.

Well after researching....the thing about the below cast list is that it seems some of the actors maybe filming other films around the time when GL is shooting. Hugo and Doug maybe shooting The Hobbit and Dennis and Doug also have Legion lined up? Hmm....is The Hobbit shooting in New Zealand like the LOTR films? If so, thats close to Aussie Land.

Rachel McAdams would not make a convincing ex pilot running her fathers business

No, but it is obligatory that she be mentioned, along with Megan Fox and Eliza Dushku.

It's the rules.

Rose Byrne or Rachel McAdams would be just as convincing in the role as Michelle Monaghan in my opinion.

Megan Fox doesn't know a juice box from an XBox....People need to stop casting with their ****s

Hal Jordan-Ryan Reynolds
Carol Ferris-Michelle Monaghan or Rachel Weisz (she was in Definately, Maybe with Reynolds)
Sinestro-Jason Isaacs
Hector Hammond-Paul Giamatti (excellent casting there)
Kilowog-Dennis Haysbert
Keith David-Voice of Guardians of the Universe

Not sure who else I would cast but these are my definite picks.

That's a good idea, I think I'll do that. Thanks! :)

Yeah, she maybe to much of the girly cutesy type, but she is a pretty good up and coming actress.

Monaghan might be a better fit as a former pilot and a tougher cookie huh?

In the end I think it will come down to which actress has the looks, along with the talent and good chemistry with Reynolds.

it depends...its still some time off....I remain cautious until shooting starts

I thought that too when Jimmy Heyward was announced at the new director of Jonah Hex. I thought "This ain't gonna get made, especially with this guy." But in no time at all the cast came together, financing came through and then boom! Set pics start coming in.

I think production on GL will definitely accelerate once they land the supporting roles and get sets built. I have more faith in GL making it to release because 1) it was a post-strike script, 2) Martin Campbell, 3) Ryan Reynolds, 4) Definite release date and 5) Location scouting is underway and studios are booked.

Yeah, Jonah Hex went into production rather fast (in a good way).

Sometimes, it takes years for a movie to get into production EVEN if they have a director.

Wonder Woman is going to end up being infamous for this. They just can not seem to get that **** off the ground.

I think Katherine Bigalow (Point Break, The Hurt Locker) could direct Wonder Woman. She's been getting a lot of praise for the Hurt Locker and I think woman should do it.

That being said, I think Wonder Woman is hard to do because you can't make Diana too much of a feminist like in animated Justice League. That's fine if she's a part of the assemble cast, but on her own, she needs to LOOSEN UP.

Also, the lesbian-bondage angle of Wonder Woman's amazon island would be hard to make kid friendly without being so suggestive. I love lesbian bondage amazon islands myself, but this is business so they have to water it down somehow..

I don't get the impression WB is even trying to get WW off the ground.
