Donovan would be good in many super-hero/villain roles.

Riddler, Question, Deathstroke, Namor, Hal Jordan, Chameleon.

Hell, I'd take him as Guy Gardner as well. He can play a damn ornery bastard when he wants to. Plus his arguments with Salaak would be epic.

I find it hard to believe is someone offered the lead role in a movie to Casey Affleck that he would turn it down. I could be wrong.

If Casey Affleck wanted to see the bad parts of playing a superhero, I know where he could go for advice. It's not that hard to believe.

I don't find it hard to believe either, it's probably just something Casey doesn't want to do in his career. And I didn't find DD all that bad :o

Now, Duhamel is my top choice, but someone I'd also like a lot and has expressed interest in playing the Green Lantern is

JensenAckles49.jpg

He's my back up choice, and he's a young up and coming actor in the mold of what they seem to be looking for

Jensen would make a better Cap....and apparently Marvel is looking at him for the part as well

Really? I'd be on board for that. I think he's talented and just needs the right breakout role and he'll be a huge star.

Marvel are actually looking at him?

Have you posted that titbit on the Cap casting thread, BL?

Some would consider that to be a bit of a scoop as to the best of my knowledge, all the talk of Jensen as Cap has been mostly from us fans.

The Jensen choice for GL is mediocre at best. It sounds like WB wants established movie actors with some buzz behind them for the Hal Jordan role.

I think Harnett is actually a very realistic choice and a better fit for Hal.

Besides casting for Hal should begin very soon if they want to start preproduction in early 09; Jensen's still out in BC filming Supernatural.

I don't want a village idiot playing Hal. I think someone coined that term for Hartnett....Possibly SUPERBENITEZ.

That's because Harnett wasn't right for Superman (even though WB considered him).

But for Hal Jordan?

Harnett's voice and appearance is almost exactly like how Hal Jordan is in MK vs DCU:

Plus the fact he has quite an impressive Hollywood resume; he's not too far removed from actors like Ryan Gosling and Casey Affleck.

Well Ryan and Casey have already turned it down, so knowing that you have to look a bit down the ladder of choices.

To me, while Hartnett certainly has a good look, he never seemed to thrilled about the idea of playing a costumed superhero, so I think if offered GL he'd turn it down as well.

That's certainly possible.

Though it wouldn't explain the talks of him and the Superman role.

There are a lot of actors out there that would fit the Hal Jordan role that I've mentioned- Jake Gyllenhaal, Joshua Jackson, even Ryan Gosling would do well if he hadn't turned it down.
But now I agree with Man of Tomorrow that Hartnett would be the most realistic and the right type for Hal. Judging from his past roles, he is a guy that can play the rebellious, self-absorbed Hal well and than effectively transition into the heroic new GL with a refreshed sense of personal integrity.
Still goin' with Zooey Deschanel for Carol Ferris.....

I like Zooey, but not for Carol...she doesn't look mature enough for Carol, I wouldn't buy her as the head of Daily Operations for Ferris Aircraft

Agreed. Carol needs more of an edge and toughness to her.

I think Zooey is destined to be Lois in the next Superman film, at least I hope. She's got the perfect spunky attitude for that. I can't wait for her upcoming film with Jim Carrey.

I don't know who should play Carol, but it honestly isnt a hard role to cast.

Did he say he was against costumed superheroes in general? This article makes it seem like he was just against the baggage of the Superman role and typecasting:

Which is a pretty common sentiment in regards to Superman..

Which is a fair concern....I wish more actors were honest about being typecast and things like that

I want Zooey for everything.
