Casting aside...getting the GL outfit to look good moving on screen has to be a concern as well....I like the classic look and the look in MK vs. DC is pretty decent as well...

yea i hope the gl suit is translated well from comics to screen like with the spider-man movie suits they kept the classic elements of the look and only did modifications here and there.

Red and blue Spidey suit was fine....the black one was garbage....the Visual FX department didn't want to be bothered to make a completely new model for CGI shots so they just changed the color palette.....lazy *******s....

yea i know i wish they tried to be more like the comics symboite look or atless over the course of the film the suit changed sorta like what they did in spectactular spider-man new toon with the symboite suit.

a name I hear mentioned (on another board) for Guy, that I found kind a intersting...
Brad Beyer

how about this bit of news:

Is Gregory Smith a contender for Green Lantern?
December 1st, 2008
Author David Pepose

Gregory Smith might have The Right Stuff. But does he deserve to wield a power ring?
Green Lantern

At any rate, the 25-year-old has certainly positioned himself as a contender. Smith made his bones on the television series Everwood, which was written by Greg Berlanti — who happens to be directing the film. And now, TVGuide has announced that Smith is set to appear near the end of the second (and final) season of Eli Stone… which is executive produced by Marc Guggenheim, one of the Green Lantern co-writers.

Now say it with me: “In brightest day, in blackest night…”

Speculation? Maybe. But he’s certainly in a position to try out. While he does look fairly young, Smith could certainly bulk up before the film’s release in 2010, and according to the age requirements for the U.S. military, you have to be in and out of flight school before the age of 30. (And that’s just for the Air Force.) And as HeraldNet wrote in their (mostly negative) review of Smith’s film Nearing Grace, “the best thing in this movie is Gregory Smith… a better movie will make this kid a star.” Maybe Green Lantern will be it.

Meanwhile, MTV reports an even weirder GL-related occurance: what’s this about a cameo for Clark Kent?

someone suggested Michele Monaghan, I would be ok with that....

Michelle Monaghan would be a solid choice as Carol....she would fit right in with actors like Hartnett and Duhamel also thats for sure.

I just read where Colbie Smulders is pregnant. I guess she is out of the running for now.

Yea i know with smith, he is a decent actor and in the age frame they are looking to go with for a young hal but i rather have someone a bit bigger known like a gosling, casey affleck, and the other names like harnett, etc....

This guy?

I'd boycott this movie if thats what they wanted. Horrible casting choice.

...and rightly so, I like Johnny Lee Miller but Eli Stone makes no ****ing sense....

i kinda like Johnny Lee Miller, he wouldnt be the worse idea for Hal.

I'd still think Josh Duhamel would be a good choice....but it's one of those roles that is tough to cast....
