Yes, yes you do. The Way of the Gun is one of the most underrated movies of all time. Also one of the most thought-provoking and unique crime drama/westerns ever made.

Yeah, Way of the Gun was a solid film.

I agree 100%. Phillipe would be better as Barry Allen and Hirsch is far to young.

Barry Allen.....hmmm.....I could see that working maybe (Ryan Gosling is still my first choice tho). :) Hirsch is a terrible actor, IMO.

their is plently of great/decent actors out there they would all make a great barry/wally.

I've watched a few episodes of NCIS with Michael Weatherly and I think he would make a great hal, and if not a good barry allen.

This is probably bad news, but from what I'm hearing Harnett and Duhamel aren't being considered.

They're looking for big-name up and coming Hollywood actors (like Gosling and Affleck) that are unconventional for the role of Hal Jordan apparently.

The early artwork was based on David Boreanaz but now they're looking for actors that don't resemble Hal at all, apparently.

I guess my favorite pick is probably Leonardo Dicaprio out of what is available, but I think whoever is picked will come out of left field to fans (as Ledger did).

Yeah.. I'm not so happy about this, but let's see how it plays out.

Are they trying to follow the RDJ/Tony Stak mold or something?

They're going to offer it to Sam Worthington... I have a feeling they're seriously considering him for the role.

I hope so too.

He apparently IS one of the actors they are considering, but I am told it's unlikely he'll get it.

RDJ looked like Iron Man came from the comics and formed into a real person. Anyone who thinks he didn't nail the look of Iron Man...:cmad::cmad:

Why would WB be looking at Worthington, when they have already cast him in Clash of the Titans? I believe these movies aim to shoot around the same time and be released in 2010, or am I wrong?
I would love for them to get Worthington personally, but looks unlikely. In a perfect world Nathon Fillion would play Hal IMHO.

I just want WB to smarten up and cast someone better suited for Hal.

Gosling and Affleck would have been horrible.

Either would have been great. It would have been a big stamp of credibility at the top of the cast, and would likely have helped set the standard for other great actors to fill out the rest of the ensemble. I only hope whoever is cast is in their league.

I agree they're great actors. But when it comes to casting superheroes, there's a look that they need to fit as well.

RDJ fit the look of Tony, Bale for Bruce Wayne etc

Neither Gosling or Casey Affleck look like Green Lantern; or superheroes at all.

But it sounds like WB wants to ignore Hal's look from the comics and reinvent him. Something tells me there's gonna be alot of fanboy bickering ahead.

Would you be able to post a list of the names being considered?

Yes, I am already gearing up for the fanboy slamming/post-trailer 180 fawning and ass-kissing that we got with Ledger, if it's someone like Gosling or Affleck cast.
