I dont think Jackmans on steroids. Hes had plenty of time to get to that size and he has been getting bigger over time with the X-Men movies including the solo to show his progress.

Whether or not Jackman is on steroids, how does it pertain to the GREEN LANTERN casting thread, and secondly who cares if he is, or isn't?

Lets just say....HGH use is not exclusively used by only athletes.

Its chit chat. at this point the thread would just be rehashing suggestions.

Chit chat is fine as there's no rumors to discuss at the moment, I'm just curious what made Knight randomly decide to bring up Jackman and steroids?

It was on the LatinoReview guy's twitter page, right next to the blurb about the WB execs flipping over GL's most recent draft

If Duhamel, Hirsch and Phillipe are the frontrunners, I'd definitely go with Phillipe. I've yet to see Duhamel play anything close to a complete character in a film. He's usually just sort of "there." Hirsch is really good but he doesn't physically suit Hal. I hate to go the "he's too short" route, but this is one case where he absolutely is. He might be okay for Kyle Raynor though. Phillipe, while not my first choice for Hal, is a very solid actor and can play a hero, a womanizer, and a badass. I think that he could do really well in this role, however I think he'd be better suited to a darker superhero character. Not sure who though.

Of the three, I'd go with in order, Duhamel, Phillipe, Hirsch.

Anyway, thought I'd throw this out there, Michael C. Hall as Hector Hammond.

anyone who has issues with Phillipe needs to watch Breach and Way of the Gun....

How old is hector hammond in the script?

Late 30s, which is skewing a good deal younger than the Hammond of the comics. It's certainly forced me to shift from my longtime pick of David Straithairn for the role.

I don't think it's unfeasible for the age to be stretched to early 40s, if the actor is good enough. Hence why Paul Giamatti and Andy Serkis remain good choices. I've had a few other ideas for the role spring to mind, I might get round to listing them at some point.

That would be my order for those three, also.

I don't think Jackman is the type of guy that does steroids...But he Is Huge.

Anyway, Hirsch for Kyle is not bad. Just let him get a bit older.

I saw Way of the Gun, I liked Benicio del Toro a hell of a lot more and thought Phillipe's voice was damn annoying. I couldn't even take him seriously, and have a hard time percieving him as a badass. If he was Green Lantern imo it would be one of the worst casting choices in the history of D.C movies. But that is just my opinion.

Thanks,That's exactly why I asked, I was watching L.A Confidential and thought he'd be great for the role, but I wasn't sure how young they made him.

In terms of looks, I don't think they particularly have Hammond down, but both are indeed great actors and could certainly pull off the character.

I thought Phillipe acted coldly when he was rumored for Harvey Dent - I believe I remember him scoffing at comic book stories.

I would be disappointed if Hirsch was cast actually. He is far too short and too young and as someone else has said he would be better suited as Kyle Raynor if anything.

I think Duhamel can bring something to the role, it's just they would need to surround him with a solid supporting cast.

Can someone please name me a movie that Duhamel has done where he's actually impressive as an actor? I'm not saying that he can't, but if he can, I have yet to see it. I think if they pick him for this role, it will be about as inspired as Ben Affleck was for Daredevil.

As for Phillipe... I thought he was GREAT in The Way of the Gun... I think certain people were predisposed not to like him because they thought of him as a prettyboy actor.

I liked Duhamel on Las Vegas, he has certain swagger that is fitting with Hal.
