Gosling doesn't look the part remotely to me. But he can act, so I suppose it's that age old comic movie question--the guy who can act but doesn't look the part or the guy who looks the part but can't act. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Always go for the guy who can act.

The Iron Man script wasn't "wow" but the actors definitely made it extraordinary! I have faith that Campbell will do the franchise justice...

Oh, and has it been officially confirmed that Campbell is directing?

Gosling is a perfect choice so I hope that WB have a great offer...

Gosling looks enough like Hal I guess and can certainly act so there's no doubt he'll be good, I just don't think he's the best choice.

Gosling passed on the offer?

ABSOLUTELY. It's pointless having a guy who looks the part perfectly, if the illusion is broken the second he opens his mouth. Much better to have an actor who lacks an obvious resemblance, but is talented enough to craft a performance that will make you believe they are that character.

I don't worry that much about the looks. Eventually the person will grow on you. As for height and weight that is a different story.

There needs to be a balance of both.

From what I can gather 97% of the people who support Worthington have never seen him act in anything. Go figure.

Make that 99%.

When I previously asked the question on here of just how many people suggesting Worthington for Hal had actually seen him in anything - only one poster confirmed that they had.

:whatever:

Relative resemblance. Buscemi wont be up for Thor obviously, but there are far too many people who adhere to exact look as much as they should. I mean the people on the Superman boards who argue eyebrows and noses is a little ridiculous.

Agreed.

Read further. There are rumors of a second offer

The same source also said that insiders think he would more than likely pass on that offer too. There are also rumors having Gosling in the running for "Thor" as well. I will believe it when See it.

Where?

It makes sense. Gosling got his start on YOUNG HERCULES!!!!!!!!!!

If Gosling is really 6'1", then his height seems appropriate. To me, GL is the same height or an inch or two shorter than Supes.

Hal is supposed to be 6' and Supes 6'3

Remember that Christian Bale passed on Terminator: Salvation initially, and when they REALLY wanted him for John Connor, they gave him a say on the script and some creative control on how his character could be developed in order to sweeten the deal. Perhaps they'll try something similar to lure in Ryan Gosling?

I really don't think so. Not script control, but they will probably throw a bigger check at him.

Timothy Dalton would make a truly astonishing Sinestro. See him in "Hot Fuzz".

Gosling is in the middle for me. I wouldn't be ecstatic and I wouldn't be mad, I would just wait to see how it works out.
Yelchin, however, would sink this boat before it even sets sail.

Hmmmmmm, but he's a bit old to do much physically. Having said that, he's my favorite Bond, so...Dalton it is!
