1) No Deadpool spin-off. I don't think Marvel is going to take kindly to the actor that played just one of their characters going on to headline a major franchise from their rival company.

Do you really think that was going to happen? They had to sell the film to Marvel first and all they had was Reynolds (there was no story or director). If you want to look at it that way, now Marvel could go after Cris Pine for that role. But in all honesty, after what happend with The Punisher, do you really think that Deadpool was going to happen?

2) Probably no Flash movie in the works, either. With Reynolds pulling to play the Flash for so long, it makes it seem likely that a Flash movie won't really happen.

You never know though.

No Flash was a given, and Reynolds is not getting any younger. This was the best opportunity for him and I am glad that he was offered the role and he took it. Mark my word, there will be somebody else that will fit the role of the Flash just fine and we will all be satisfied with the choice when it does happen.

I agree with this, I know a lot of people are saying RR is better suited for Flash but we are not even guaranteed to ever be getting a Flash. And if we do, when? If Flash does get made, there will be others that will do a great job with the role. RR did the smart thing here.

So, Reynolds is GL huh?

I like it. Out of the 3 I think he was the best option. Now we can move on forward.

out of the three selections, i would've picked Bradley Cooper as GL (because Reynolds has always been my Flash). Cooper just fits the mold of Jordan better than the other two. but i have no qualms with Reynolds as GL, so long as he plays it like Hal Jordan and not Wally West with a power ring. and the work i've seen Reynolds do, i'm confident he can deliver what is required.

but i must say, whoever Flash will be, has to be funnier than Reynolds. and that my friends will be a tough find.

It will. But like some said, we don't even know when Flash will be made. GL always was gonna come first anyway since it could potentially have the broadest appeal. Flash wouldn't of come until after and we don't know when exactly. And yeah, Reynolds saw the opportunity and jumped at it. At this point he would of never been cast as Wally West.

^Yeah, the dude that plays Flash may not even be of legal age yet.

Wb seems set on scott porter for the flash if it happens. Good news to hear reynolds was cast and I see why. If there spending between 150-200 million they needed an actor that brought something to the table in terms of popularity, not to mention he seems to be well liked among the fanboys because he's suggested for every role under the sun.

In terms of deadpool. Get real guys, what actor actually wants to play a character who doesnt have his face shown through the whole film. Thats why guys like doug jones do that. They could get anyone to play deadpool and just have a voice over.

Yup. It's many years away no matter how you look at it. If this film does well, obviously a sequel. Then maybe the greenlight of a Flash film whichi by now we all know takes a long time in pre production. Hiring everybody. This takes a year for it to get off the ground. Not to mention scripts need to be written, and various drafts to get it right. Then filming, post, etc.

I don't think we'll see a Flash movie until 2015 or 16 but before 2020.

^Exactly. Part of me doesn't even think they should make a solo Flash movie. I don't think there is enough of an appeal for that character to warrant his own movie when his main power is the ability to run fast. So what. Superman can run fast and can do a whole slew of other things. GL's possibilities and abilities and it's universe are endless so he definitely deserves his own movie. I know someone can just argue that you just need the right imagination to make the Flash movie captivate the audience. I don't think it is worth the risk.

I believe Superman and Batman of course deserve their own movies along with GL and IMO, WW. I would just introduce Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter in the JL film if by some miracle we ever get one. If you think about it, WB has never even released a solo Flash animated film. Even WW has her own solo animated film. I don't think Flash could carry his own movie, but that's just me.

why won't people just let go of cooper?

Yeah. When he was first suggested people weret exactly enthusiastic... "He would be a much better Guy Gardner!" they said... And i agreed.
Well, y'know what, folks? Now he can be...

I don't know what to think of this.

Part of me is anticipating Ryan Reynolds to pull a Michael Keaton and totally prove the nay sayers wrong.

And part of me is thinking of about the very real possibility that Hal Jordan will be a snarky smart ass with a wide repetoire of witty quips and one liners :down

Will wait and see...

To be fair, he's kinda like that troughout the Script.

This statement is getting insanely annoying. For one, Reynold's wants to play that character. And secondly, Deadpool takes his mask off. And parts of the film would be told in flashbacks anyway. In the end you'd see as much of him with and without a mask as you would in any other comic book flick.

They'll probably go with Barry not Wally, so how funny they can be won't really be a factor.

Well we dont know about the script so I dont think we can say how much he will have his mask on and off

But ya Reynolds expressed alot of interest in playing Deadpool

Which makes RR a total phony if he blew off Deadpool for GL. Hopefully, Deadpool wasn't really happening and that is why signed onto GL.

Reynolds doesnt mess around I dont think he'll give a bad performance

I agree.
If Deadpool is still happening and he signed on to GL I think thats kind of messed up

Based on what? Artists and writers have gone between the companies why not actors
Stars are a lot more bankable than artists and writers.

About Deadpool: Not really. Along with Venom, Deadpool may have had one of the worst adaptations on the silver screen. I'm kind of hoping both of those movies died.

About Flash: Let me re-phrase what I said. Probably won't be a Flash movie for a while unless GL absolutely blows away the box office. The only franchise DC has that did what it should and then some is Batman. Catwoman was an abomination and Superman Returns didn't do nearly as well as predicted. I think DC's trying to act a little safe for now.
