It's less about the effects and more about the movie going audience accepting Wonder Woman as a viable movie franchise

If they stick with making the potential WW film as EPIC as possible mixed in with some elements of Amazon and Greek mythology and not cheesy and silly, then it would succeed. The budget for the film would need to be no more than 110 million IMO though.

I think to get it across to the non fan, which is 90 percent of the movie going audience....How do you get them to take a woman who wears bright red hooker boots and a gold plated halter seriously??

Probably as easy as it is to take a grown man in a rubber bat suit seriously

Jmc has made some great and believable manips in the WW thread.

There are ways to design the costume that'll look great on screen and be very easy for general audiences to accept.

wonder Woman and superheroes in general are a part of our public consciousness; people will buy into anything if it's done right.

For Wonder Woman, I still think this would be an amazing way to go:

well Batman has a gimmick for the suit...Fear...Superman has hope...Ive always been a bit fuzzy on what Wonder Woman stood for

I don't do "fan art"

I agree...it would take some great design

I honestly think if the world can take a man with underwear on the outside of his pants seriously then they can handle WW. Hell if they can handle a man in spandex period I think they will be fine.

Oh that's right, I remember you saying that. :hehe: Well, jmc's art is barely fan art. Double Down posted one of his manips above your post. See how practical it is compared to the comics costume? That could work on screen.

Yes! I had a feeling something was up at WB's....things have been far too quite. After this reading report, I have to admit what has peaked my interest is the report that an Aquaman film IS being developed with DiCaprio set to produce along with his production company? Now that is interesting news to say the least huh?

Speaking of Geoff Johns, I met him this past Saturday in San Francisco for an autograph signing session and after party at Isotope Comics in the city and he told me he has talked with Green Lantern Director Martin Campbell, along with the producers and writers. He told me that Campbell will be using elements of his Secret Origins run and adapt some of his ideas into the live action film. To my surprise, he did say he had talked to WB's execs regarding the Flash film, but didn't say anything else.

He was also was mum on the next Superman. He said he hasn't talked with WB's about the next Superman film.....yet at least..... but we both agreed that it would be nice to see his version of Braniac used in the next Supes film from his Superman/Braniac story arc from last year. He said he was excited to finally see Green Lantern getting off the ground and he thinks it will be amazing. He signed my Green Lantern books of his, Sinestro Corp Wars, the latest Blackest Night first issue, Secret Origins, and I had him sign one of the issues of the Braniac story arc. Specifically the one where Braniac is staring at Supes in that creepy cacoon look and Supes is looking at him in amazement.

I also took a couple of pics with him! I was stoked....found out he was going to be there on Friday and went right after work on Saturday to catch him at 4pm. Everything worked out perfectly! Johns is the man....I hope to run into him again. It saved me a trip to this years craziness at Comic Con!

I plan on being at the Con next summer though for the big Green Lantern promotion and marketing campaign.

oh Dark Knight, thanks for the news.

It's wonderful to know that Geoff is involved with these projects. It sounds like his more hands on with The Flash, which is a plus.

If they go with another Superman movie, they should use Geoff's run with Brainiac for sure.

Although I'm not a GL fan, the signing of Ryan Reynolds has sparked my interest and I might get a TPB of GL someday, to read up about this superhero. I'm glad Marvel (and now DC) have committed to make the best superhero movies they can make, and us fans are the ones who will be reaping the benefit.

I think your best bet is to read any of the Geoff John' Green Lantern books, starting with Rebirth. Ever since Rebirth, the character has been on a roll.

Oh yeah...Geoff Johns is hot and on a roll right now, without a doubt!

He's a cool guy also....:word:

After reading the new report....I have a feeling Morrsion will be the main consultant behind the next Supes film. I would hope some of Johns ideas will be used in the next film (hopefully Braniac and his creepy organic looking robots). Plus Geoff didn't say he was involved in the next Supes film, but then again he could have been just saying that.

Yea as i said over in the dc comics film section on this news article since it broke the other day i do hope we actually get these other characters on the silver screen soon in the coming years and hopefully this wont end up being wb/dc speaking out of their butts and have nothing to show us after hex/losers/green lantern.

Are the other Lanterns gonna get small roles in this movie, before they are Lanterns obviously? Setting it up for sequels? I'd like to see Guy Gardner.

Apparently, in the first draft of the script (the one that was leaked last year) When the ring is seeking out a replacement at the beginning, it whizzes by a gym teacher on a Football field. The name on the back of his shirt says "Gardner".
So yeah, there's a little set-up for Guy.

Cool. I've got the first draft but haven't read it all yet. Might have to get round to it.

Hmm, I might just try to pick up Secret Origins or the others you guys reccomended. I definately want to to get them before the film.
